Welcome to Librarium Online!
Many gamers play at the store that I go to, either Beholders eye or Fun-n-Games, both are on main street in blacksburg, so if you are in south west virginia, feel free to stop by either and get a game...
Also will be shipping out for the army soon, don't know where I will be stationed however once that is known then I will be looking to get a club together there, or at least joining one if it already exists.
ooo some one from c-burg?
nice, yea man i played against brock the other day at beholders eye... damn his orcs!
I play the marines that look alot like imperial fists and then I have eldar as well.
I'm finally scraping together my first army. I've been 'into' the hobby since 3rd edition, right before Tau originally came out, but I've never actually motivated myself to buy and paint up a full army until now. I've got one squad of Raven Guard Space Marines done, participating in the Tale of Painters project here on LO (you can check it out in the Projects subforum of the Painting forum). I wish I had the cash to get more, but I'm going to be working on it slowly, otherwise I'd come participate in some games.
I haven't gamed at Beholder's Eye before, and the once at Fun 'n' Games makes me not want to do it again. Too many extremely serious players there, who tend to want to tell me how to do things when I already know, hah. I have a smallish gaming group, a guy who has a CSM army and a Tau army, another with Eldar, and (if she ever gets her army together, much like me) a Daemons player.
dude... FNG SUCKS!!
I have been hanging out there since it was located where sheesha is now... but the new owner is a prick... and yea some of us get pretty serious... but really it is just the aptmosphere that FNG causes... Yea I think that I saw you guys in there buying some things one time... If you guys ever want to get a game going then send me a shout... I definately have more than enough eldar for her to borrow to play as well as enough marines for some one to borrow...
Do you remember who you played at FNG?
That's the funny part, I never played against anyone except one of my friends, who I'm fine with playing. It was a while ago, but random guys would just walk up to our table and start commenting on our game, or what we're doing wrong or what we "should" do. I just wanted to go "hey guy, we're playing. Back off." Heh.
As it is now, I rarely get games in due to lack of models; I had a lot more than I do now, but I sold it all to get some extra cash. I got hired in August and moved to Fairfax to work, then got laid off in early October so now I'm back home. All the models I own are 10 Tactical Marines, 5 Assault Marines, and 5 Eldar Rangers, oddly enough.
you know i have this wierd feeling that blake came over and tried to tell you how to play... even though he doesn't play... I find that a few of the players at FNG are quite sure that they have memorized the rules cover to cover....
Try going to Beholders Eye and playing... and I may scrounge around and see if I have any extra marines that I could part with...
Wow.... not sure I realized there were avid gamers in blacksburg...
I'm looking to get in some 40k games if someone is interested.....
I mainly play WHF at Beholder's Eye, and 2-3 people get together on Tuesday nights for warband scale games. I was told that a few people show-up on Monday afternoons to play 40k and fantasy.
The good thing about Beholder's eye is that both of the owners play most of the Miniature games, and they are willing to play with you if you set it up in advance. Also the average age of players is a little older than FnG, but they will still play with younger players as long as the players behave themselves.... I am also a C'burg resident.
I would also not recommend anyone drive to Radford to play, the owner of Gamequest makes you pay to play and only allows you to eat food you buy in his store.
My Armies: Orc & Goblins, Vampire Counts, Empire, Space Marines/Blood Angels, and Cygnar
Are any of you still active? I'm in Roanoke and looking to get into the game.
