    Update on the event...

    Update:
We spent a lot of effort making sure to balance out Elite Armies vs Mob armies, etc. and ensure all armies can have a strong influence on the outcome. The Unit of Legend and hints below should give you the idea where we are going.

Most of all, it is going to be tons of fun. I've been wanting to setup an event like this for a long time & was excited that Justin from Gamers Gambit allowed me to organize it. Keep in mind, there is a team of a few people helping. No event like this is really done by one person.

------------------------------------- Extra clue from the NJ/NY Facebook page:

As for troops, the main objectives on the board will not be held/contested by the normal rules. The team with the most troop units on the objective (here's a hint that they are larger than a poker chip) claims it. So no running a speeder up at the last minute to contest an objective.

------------------------------------- From the NJ/NY Facebook page on the Unit of Legend:
1500pt. Normal Force Organization plus up to 1000pt in Unit of Legend.

Unit of Legend (your own personal St. Patrick): Choose one unit only (single model, squad or squadron) up to a 1000pt in cost and may be a super heavy, flyer or garagntuan creature. UNIT OF LEGEND CANNOT BE PROXY MODELS. If joined by an Independent Character, that character comes from normal force org points and not bonus.

For example: a 1500pt Blood Angels Army can choose to have their one Death Company unit paid for in bonus points. Or a 1500pt Green Tide can have a single Stompa as their Unit of Legend.

Everyone knows what your Unit of Legend is. The top prize is the player whose Unit of Legend a) survives the game and b) has the most Kill Points of surviving Units of Legend.

‎...After receiving a garbled message from the 417th Cadian, stationed on the mining colony of Amphipolis V, nearby were need be dispatched to assist the beleaguered guardsmen. The original message failed to specify the nature of the threat, but clearly indicated that the guardsmen were attempting to rally their forces near a space port they found vital to maintaining contact with the Imperium, the Governor's Palace in the capitol, Ephesus, and the Chersonese Mountains controlling the passage from the Southern Plateau to, Ephesus. All Imperial Forces within the Amphipolis and adjoining systems are ordered to assist on the defense of Amphipolis V.

Tomorrow the battle begins. Let the Emperor guide us.

Thanks for everyone who played, and Natalie Portman for her *quiet* attendance.

    Awards:
Best "Unit of Legend": Bill M.
Winning Team: "Saints" / Defenders of the Imperial Fortress. Noah and Jon P. walked away with the team prizes.
Best Sportsman: Trevor (it was his first time attending one of my events, great to have someone new be appreciated so much.)

The event could not have been put together without our generous hosts "the Gamers Gambit" and the gracious contributions from Bill Morgenthien.

It was a pleasure to be involved in running an event. For full disclosure: "40k NJ NY" makes no money and gets no financial gain, discounts, etc. from GW, the local gaming stores etc. It is out of "love of the game."
