    [1500] [Dark Angels]

I have decided to resurrect my trusty battle brothers. After ruminating over a plethora of advice I have come up with the following list.

1500 Pts - Dark Angels Army

    1 Reclusiarch (HQ) @ 122 Pts
    Bolt Pistol (x1); Crozius Arcanum; Rosarius;
    #Terminator Honours
    Jump Pack
    Frag Grenades

Standard loadout for a chappie, not too expensive but effective.

    6 Tactical Squad (Troops) @ 115 Pts
    Bolter (x4); Lascannon (x1); Plasma Gun (x1)

    6 Tactical Squad (Troops) @ 115 Pts
    Bolter (x4); Lascannon (x1); Plasma Gun (x1)

Again a very standard loadout for my tactical squads with heavy armour/elite troops being their primary targets.

    6 Tactical Squad (Troops) @ 105 Pts
Bolter (x4); Heavy Bolter (x1); Plasma Gun (x1)

A more anti-troops squad orientation here

    6 Scout Squad (Troops) @ 108 Pts
Sniper Rifle (x5); Heavy Bolter (x1); Infiltrate Skill

These will provide limited defence against high toughness models (Wraithlord, C'tan TMC's etc) and attempting to pin important units

7 Assault Squad (Fast Attack) @ 216 Pts
    Bolt Pistol & CCWep. (x5); Plasma P. & CC Wep. (x2); Close Combat Weapon;
    Frag Grenades; Jump Packs

    1 Veteran Sergeant @ [52] Pts
Frag Grenades; Jump Packs; Bolt Pistol (x1); Power Fist (x1)

Yet again a standard loadout for an assault squad, when coupled with the chappie will either be a formidable attacking/counter assault unit.

2 Ravenwing Land Speeder Squadron (Fast Attack) @ 160 Pts
Assault Cannon (x2); Heavy Bolter (x2)

2 Ravenwing Land Speeder Squadron (Fast Attack) @ 160 Pts
Assault Cannon (x2); Heavy Bolter (x2)

Gotta love these babies, excellent at mowing down light troops and light (possibly heavy) armour.

1 Predator 'Destructor' (Heavy Support) @ 115 Pts
2 Spons. Hvy Bolters; Turret Autocannon
    Extra Armour

Nasty piece of work that can move 6" and still pump out 8 shots.

1 Whirlwind Battery (Heavy Support) @ 85 Pts

Have to love being able to shoot from behind cover, performances can vary from an annoyance to a game winner.

8 Devastator Squad (Heavy Support) @ 200 Pts
    Bolter (x4); Missile Launcher (x4)

You guessed it a standard loadout but one that I have found very effective.

    Models in Army: 47

    Total Army Cost: 1501

Yes I know I'm one point over but I can't see myself going to any GT's too soon. My main concern is that I don't have enough tank busting power as I only have 6 weapons that can penetrate AV14 (or only 2 vs Monolith). There definitely is a bias towards anti-troops (specifically those with 4+ saves) so I feel that I may struggle against 3+ save armies. There is also the eternal problem that in the effort of trying to be balanced I will not be able to outshoot very shooty lists (despite the fact that there is a bias towards shooty in this list) and will not be able hold back CC orientated armies for long.
Any suggestions/criticisms as to my choices would be greatly appreciated.

Well that 1 point is easy drop the chaplains frag grenades. i can't say that anything is wrong with your list because its so standard. a slight lack of anti tank and 1 small cc squad. i think you should dedicate your tactical squads to being anti-troop. The devastators will be fine but add a dreadnaught with missle launcher lascannon and tank hunters. this punches through the heaviest of armour. FOr close combat i would suggest one tactical squad also ready for cc. A good way to protect those devastators and scouts is too put 10 cc scouts in front of them. keep them in cover. they can deal with plenty of cc squads that come their way. however they have to stay in cover to remain effective.
    good luck with the list

You don't really need a heavy bolter, you have enough AP4 stuff as it is.
I would drop this to 5 men and only have a lascannon. Then you can use the points on Blades of Reason on Chaplains (they will really help with victory points).

I owuld add another 2 guys. Also, I owuld like to note that your Sniper Rifles aren't going to do crap against a Wraithlord, it has a 3+ armour save. You have the same chance of killing it as you do killing Azrael. Use Lascannons instead.

Yes but you are better off with a TLLC on top than a Autocannon.

You shouldn't really have a problem with anyone. Your Devvies and Lascannons can deal with 3+ save armies no problem, and your LSTs can handle hordes.

With a few minor changes, your list is very well balanced. If you need more points for more men in the assault squad, just drop some plasma gunners.
