Default Who suffers the most from the new space marine?

Hi,

I hear a lot of people getting angry about the new rules of the space marine and it made wonder who suffers the most from the new rules that the space marine are getting.

I must admit that CSM, DA, BA and BT players must not be happy about the new land raiders getting 12 seats.

Also getting 12 psychic powers must be getting to eldar players.

Finally, how about space marines being able to flee close combat with their new combat tactic that must hurt DA and Tyranids

Who do you think suffer the most from the new rules and explain?

Wait for the codex, see the rules when they actually come out....etc.

DA, BT, and BA all get new faqs to make them match up with the new SM rules. SW will get a new book anyways.

I'm sure Eldar players, with psychic runes, Eldrad Ultharian, Mind War, Fortune, Doom, Destructor, Eldritch Storm, Conceal, and Enhance are really suffering.

CSM hardly suffer. They don't have the same breadth of psychic powers, but lash and warp time are phenomenal. Their units are also all great (except possessed and spawn, yeah, I think that sucks too), and they get a Greater Daemon for 100 pts. Also, their land raider had a 30 pts taken off the cost and is still 10 pts cheaper than the current SM one with Daemon possession.

Generally speaking, if your SM are running away from Nids, that means the bugs at are your line. In this case, you have a much larger problem.

This book is going to be balanced. It gets rid of min/max, discourages ass. can spamming, and brings back a lot of great fluff (conversion beamers, legion of the damned, etc) that have been gone for too long.

I'll stick by my original answer. The SM book doesn't really make anyone suffer, good to know though.

I'll echo Dr. Paris and encourage people to wait and see.

Based on rumors, however, Daemons don't look very happy. Making DS less reliable is always bad for us, and more dakka is never good.

From the rumors thus far, I submit that Eldar suffer LEAST from the new rules for SMs. Any powers they have still will only be human powers and be unreliable, limited, or equivalent to our warlocks but have to take tests to use them.
Regarding the assault changes they have, if everything isn't dead by the end of the first round of the attack, then you have done something wrong. They still die the same way so I have no objections. 2 cents over

I'm a BA player and just started on some daemons. As I'm not too happy with some of the rumors I would honestly sell my BA if they came out with the same rules because I for one like it to be a challenge and think BA's already have advantages. Also I see this as kind of a handicap for younger kids because that's the only people I see playing vanilla marines-- in my neck of the woods anyways.

Whats this about DS being harder??

Well, it's good to know GW have made a clear decision on rules and product release and will be keeping it.....Straight face breaks, howling laughter and much slapping of backs ensues.

It's quite possible they may not. I'm leaning, although biased from wishful thinking that they will just edit the FAQ's for every codex (That came out with 5th ed release) to state they may include the new tanks etc, if anything for a GW sales point of view.

Is it possible that the new units will have in their entry: may be taken by DA, SW etc? it's a 144 page codex, I think they could fit that in (and sell more vanilla codexes)

Is it unbalanced? A scoring deep striking then charging S6 power weapon armed squad? What's the cost? I think there's alot of BS on some of these threads, and even if the disgusting sounding ones really are true, what's the cost?

here are my points

1.these are mostly rumors and we cant trust everything we hear iv seen about 7 people all saying different things about scouts, only one if any are fully true.

2.everyone is going on about how good the new rules will be for sm players but you do not take into account what there losing and any point cost increase.

3.if space marines do get allot of new stuff and changed rules then the current space marine players will have to adapt to the changes and sometimes this can be a hard task to re wright the list you have used for the past 2 years.

4.my final point is this if space marines are better then it just means you need to try that bit harder to beat them what is a war game if there is no challenge?
