Please check unit stats at the door

In case you didn't see this before...

Hey folks:

I already posted to this effect in one thread here, but I'm now seeing a trend. In multiple threads (Yep, I lost count) I edited a dozen or so (Yep, lost count there, too) posts to remove unit stats and point costs, which you all surely know is against forum rules. To be frank, it's becoming a problem, and needs to stop.

As a gentle reminder, I quote below from the rules, which you can read here (Clicky!), and for your convenience, I've added some emphasis to drill the point home:

"...posters may include the point costs for full units, but may not include individual costs or stat lines for models, equipment or upgrades."

In short, please watch yourselves when posting. If you know you've done it in the past, please go back to your post and use the little pencil icon in the lower righthand corner to edit out the stats, so I don't have to do it for you.

I'd just like to add to this:

You are not permitted to post points costs and stats of weapons or units.

Regardless of GW's stance on their own intellectual property, this is against LO rules. You are posting on LO, so please respect the rules.

Please assume your colleagues know ALL the stats as well as you and also have ALL the reference material.

The moderators are not obliged to tidy up your posts. As a result, we will be getting a bit draconian with the deletion of stats filled posts.

Additionally, there will be no discrimination in the removal of stats or the editing of posts.

If your post is deleted or hacked up, please do not take this personally.

Thanks for posting this, guys!

For people who are accustomed to posting stats and the likes in their posts, especially when answering someone's questions about the rules of a unit or somesuch, I'd like to point out that the best kind of answer you can give them is the page reference of said rule. If someone says "Does X count as an HQ?" then you need to tell them "Check the codex." Far too often I've seen people post up full explanations for things that a simple browse through a codex will answer, and it lends me to believe that the people asking the questions don't own the codex. Tough luck there I'm afraid, to play the game you need to have a codex!

I noticed today that the new GW site has model stats! So a user can always go there for information, even if they can't replicate this information on LO.

GW reserves all rights, they can post what they would like to on their own site.

As has been pointed out above this is LO. When we post here we shold follow the LO rules. What other people do here or elsewhere is not a reason to break 'em.
