Finally finished! My Space Wolf army is now painted. I know, I know, not based - but white bases are fine by me for now.... it's snow
I'm no pro, but hey this is my first painted army (first army is Tau, but I never got far painting them).
Began this army last summer, so it's almost 1 year old. Picked up my first GW item February (Tau codex), so I've picked up the hobby now for about a year and a quarter
If I fielded everything I own (what you see in the pics), it's ~2350-2450 worth. Although the optimum points level for me to field is 1500-1850
1700 Tournament this weekend
In Full Force
Some Wolf Guard
Attack Bikes and Venerable Dreadnought
-> Tau model incorporated
-> The wheels still turn, except the model with the Tau
-> Dreadnought -- Forge World Plasma Cannon
Scouts and Long Fangs
-> The one in the middle is Me!
-> Here's an older picture; http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...r/CIMG0048.jpg
Blue Squad Blood Claws
Red Squad Blood Claws
-> The axe looking weapon counts as a Thunder Hammer in games (Nobody has had a problem with that; it's in my army list written down, and I paid the points). The Wolf Guard from the other Blood Claw squads have them too, but this one looks the coolest
-> On the same dude is a combi-melta made with part from Canoness inferno pistol
-> Where all of my beakies, and most of my Sternguard went
-> Some models I don't use but painted just because I had them
-> Some objective markers to go with the army
-> I got the idea for this one from some necrons I saw; http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...der/11Pink.jpg
The question I am asked most often is how I deal with heavy armour. Go through again and count up the meltas - you'll be surprised. What's more, they are integrated in the army and peppered throughout and so are very hard to get rid of outright. Not to mention, the scouts sneak up from behind with melta bombs. Don't forget my thunder hammers.
Point of interest: as you may have gathered from the pics, I have very specific tastes. Model-wise, I dislike: powerfists, vehicles, terminator armour. I have built my army lists around this, and have still come up with some very competitive tournament lists.
Hope you all enjoyed

Nice. I love looking at other peoples armies. Wont show my missus that pink marine with the daisy shoulder markings though. She would insist i paint her a company !
He is kind of cute though.............................................
Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.
do u have any transport
Always good to see such a large force! The painting is always super good, but stirling effort all the same
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
40K armies: Tyranids (2001), Space Wolves (2008), Sisters of Battle (2011)
Current Rep: 1337
Just got back from that 1700 tourny.
Got 2nd overall, 2nd for generalship, and 1ST IN PRESENTATION!!!
they gave me the HOH trophy for generalship rather than presentation though
Its a very nice complete army. Good Job.
I dropped by a local hobby store (a mom and pop type store) yesterday and found this gem
Words cannot describe how great a find this is. and for $40 too. For those of you not from Canada, $40CAN is the price of a tactical squad here (although probably not anymore due to the June price markup).
And it's in still the box in the plastic wrap, which tempted me to turn a handsome profit on ebay. But being a space wolf player, I could not sacrifice having these.
Pics to come when I have them assembled and painted
I'm usually not a big fan of Spacewolves Grey, but your army makes it work, and work good.
Congrats on 1st in presentation!
