Default The new dark angels codex featuring ravenwing assult squads

OK i'm am trying to figure out how GW will write the new codex. these are some ways that i think could get some of our originality back. I'm not going to post stat-lines because they changes won't be that different (mostly skills and options)

tactical squads:
Plasma skills: highly skilled with plasma weapons members of dark angels tactical squads know when a plasma weapon is going to overheat. marines with plasma weapons may re-roll any ones to hit.

Ravenwing assult squad (all our other fast attack is ravenwing)

32 points per model
2 attacks
Infilitrate: members of ravenwing assult squads pracitce infilitration religiously in order to better make use of their jump packs.
Plasma skills: highly skilled with their plasma pistols ravenwing assult marines know when a plasma pistol is going to over heat. any model with a plasma pistol mat re-roll ones to hit.
Raven eyes: members of ravenwing assult squads have very keen eyes and can spot which parts of dangerous terrain should be avoided and how to land safely. members of ravenwing assult squads may re-roll landing in difficult terrain.

Deathwing terminators: back to the way they originally were. being able to mix weapons from terminator assult squad.

interrogator-chaplain. like normal chaplain. blades of reason. each interrogator-chaplain has blades of reason. when the chaplain or his squad defeat a squad in close combat the blades of reason allow a d6 to be rolled for that many victory points for every five models killed.
OR
The blades of reason are attached to the wrist of the chaplain. they give the chaplain +1 attack in close combat.

SO what do you think? any thing you want to add or that should be changed mention it. maybe gamesworkshop will take notice:w00t:

I don't like the idea of assault squads in Ravenwing. What's great about Ravenwing is that all the models can move 24" in a turn, and I find Assault marines to be too slow.

I think they should make the special characters a bit better and give all Ravenwing models furious charge.

Deathwing would be cool if they all cost 55 pts, had either Furious charge or Tank hunters, and had 3 base attacks.

However, I also dread the thought of Ravenwing Speeders costing more than 80 pts (and you can rest assured that GW will increase the cost for their assault cannons). I wouldn't be upset by this at all, however, if they let you pick LSTs as Elites.

I like your tactical squad ideas, but i doubt thats gonna happen, although i would like them to automatically have cleanse and purify or something similar, to make dark angles a better chap. Compared to others they arent very good, accept the ravenwing, but bikes cost enough as it is without paying an extra 5 points. Also 55 point terminators is worse then the old days, when fielding termies in with DA was like asking to lose. Termies shouldnt even be +5 points per model. Being subburn isnt worth 25 per 5 man squad. Id also like to see the Raven Wing have access to assault squads, since they can deep strike, perhaps they must alwayz enter in reseavers or something like that, to make up for their not being able to go 24"s, but bikes wherent able to go that fast last edition either. (maybe they can assault after deep striking
:ninja: Haha Not a chance on that one. But at 32 point per model they better come with meta bombs furious charge or tankhunters. Actually ive got it, they come in like space wolf scouts, with an 18 inch assault range, and IC can come on the same roll yay well.. maybe in my dreams...

I like the idea of Plasma Skills, balanced and fluffy. I just hope that the cost of Ravenwing LSTs isnt increased, mine tend to be cursed and die repeatedly and rarely earn back 80pts as it is. More than 80pts and i wont bother fielding them

Plasma Skills sure, DA became far too much like a Codex chapter under 4th Ed. I dont like being associated with Ultra's.

Ravenwing Assault Squads....no. Its non-fluffy DA arent renowned for thier assault squads and Ravenwing have been Bikers and LST's forever.

Stubborn is a rip off at the moment. Especialy when you have to buy it for Chaplains.

maybe their attack bikes will have 2 wounds and a 2+ save?

but what I'd like to see happen to ravenwing is so that their extra toughness stops str 8 weapons from instant killing them. It would make the attack bikes a lot more special.

also what about a 5+ jink save? 6+ rarely does anything. 5+ sounds overpowered but they cost more points anyway

The 6+ jink save on my Ravenwing LST is insane, i usually make about half of them.

I do hope we'll get some more intresting stuff... but all those rules you suggested, augustine, basically makes everything better. Powergamer-warning there. :ninja:

I'd love to see a new type of squad unique for Dark Angels, especially now that the BT have got one.

Cheaper plasma weapons will hopefully be an issue.
