I think so, but it seems GW had scripted the campaign and this *****ed people off. I just hope they actually let the players scores etc decide this one.

I think this means IF chaos wins at these points THEN they will open up more battlegrounds as the imperial forces retreat. But I don't think it's scripted, I think GW got so much flakk from the EOT campaign that they might just actually let the posts and wins count for themselves.

Yes Ulrik, it probably means that, but that is not what it says. It specifically says the following
<!--QuoteBegin-Storm of chaos website
at various points in the campaign, there will be between 3 and 8 battle sites where players can fight battles. At the beginning of the campaign these locations are Bohsenfels, Ferlangen, Wolfenburg, Kurst and Zundap. As these sites get over-run and destroyed by the hordes of chaos, new battle sites will open[/quote]
It just annoys/depresses me, that's all.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel allright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace, and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.

well if the unstoppable Horde of evil and general unpleasentess got stuck on the first few towns/cities then it would make for a pretty lame story right? the true fight is meant to be at Middenheim and everything else in it's path is just meant to slow down and hold up the Horde so Valten, Karl Franz and those Elves can reach Middenheim in time to defend it.

Well, I don't know of any Dark Elf players nearby, so my Lizardmen are going on a little raid to destroy some Chaos troops. I'm hoping to be able to assemble a dino-heavy force for the campaign so that the idea of a fast-moving raiding party is better supported.
As to the campaign being scripted I was highly unsettled by an offhand remark made by the manager at the local GW store. As I was browsing and talking about the upcoming campaign, he remarks that Valten could definitely take down Archaon in games terms but not in the storyline. This made me double take, as conventional wisdom would state things the opposite way. I pressed him on it and he was casual and a bit evasive when he said Valten was probably going to die. I am not really sure of what to make of this, but as many of you know, I have always stridently stuck by Valten so I wouldnt be making this up. Does that sound wierd to anyone else? Am I making too mucha bout this?

Hasnt GW said that there will be no Special Characters from the army books dying in the SoC? ThHat means Archaon cant die, but Valten easily can.
I dont see why Valten should defeat the Lord of the End Times anyways, that little 18 year old superbeardgrowing twat...
Remember that fluffwise a couple of years have passed since Valten was "found".

One thing i've learned about Game Workshop staff (No offence to any) Is to treat what they say with a pinch of salt. Even if they say they know whats going to happen sometimes they havent been told the truth from the main Hq to stop them from blabbing. (Happend in my store during the Eye of Terror campaighn.)
Ask not the ruleboys a question for they shall give you three answers each true and terrifying to behold
I'm takin' some good ol' Chaos Warriors, with Beastmen! I find Beastmen a great mix when used with Warriors. My list can be found in the WFB Army List Section (named 1500pts Khornate Chaos).
