The army of the Fifedoms
Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth. 135pts
Captain of Dol Amroth- Lance, Armoured horse. 75pts
4 Knights of Dol Amroth- Lances, Armoured horses, Banner. 106pts
8 Knights of Dol Amroth. 72pts
16 Men at Arms of Dol Amroth- 144pts
9 Clansmen of Lamedon. 81pts
10 Rangers of Gondor- 5 with spears. 85pts
This will be the good army I will be taking to a local tournament. The idea is the army will rely on the infantry to win the day using a classic hammer and anvil approach.
The anvil will consist of Imrahil leading a force of Knights and Men at Arms in a very impressive shield wall. I had thought about putting Imrahil on a horse but he will be better on foot as all models in the anvil will be able to benfit from the re-rolls granted by Imrahil's inspiring presence.
The mounted Knights led by the captain will provide the hammer to smash the enemy with against the anvil. If this should fail then to happen the Clansmen of Lamedon will be able to enter the fray otherwise they will beguard a flank.
The Rangers will have the job of hanging back and showering the enemy with arrows as they advance. They will also be able to pitch in should things take a turn for the worst.
Please feel free to comment.
You're also light on Heroes and their precious Might Points. Perhaps throw in one the two new Characters from the Fiefdoms as well. Otherwise a banner may be needed to help keep your Anvil stuck in. Having only two Heroes could leave you in trouble against an army with a number of multiple wound creatures or Heroes/Villians.
Otherwise, you've got a pretty strong force there to accomplish most scenarios.
Imrahil counts as a banner for all Dol Amroth troops within 12" of him and he is pretty hard to boot.
Regarding the Trolls and nasty creatures I am banking on the Anvil being able to handle those with the sheer weight of attacks that they have.
