I have tried it out a couple times now with my daughter and we have enjoyed it considerably more than I thought. Anybody else playing and what do you think?
I've seen it at the local game store a few times, it looks like a good game, but I think the prepainted nature of it removes its appeal for me.
Actually the prepainted is what really made it appealing. I am very consumed with painting my eldar right now that I thought it would be cool to have a game that I can just throw down and it look okay but I can play and have a feel for it. The painting is much beeter than what I have seen in the past as well so if it had been butt ugly I may have not picked anything up.
People around here have been starting to play this too. Hard time getting new things, of course, but we're having a blast with what we can get!
A majority of the people i game with have gotten into it me as well
The game is awesome i can see how you might not like how they come pre painted but you can re paint them and people have already started modding them up and making their faction original.
Okay some reasons why i recomend everyone at least try this game..
1. The rules are simple but intriguing there can be alot of stratagy to it or you can just throw down some units and run at your oppenet
2. The monster interactions with buildings are really fun. you can do "Power attacks" and throw your enemies monster into buildings or body slam him or you can stomp with your monster and destroy everything around you to gain more power dice.
3. The Dice system is very unique and really keeps you thinking
4. i dont really know what else to say this game is great.
The store here is already having tournaments and what not and they keep selling out of the stuff. I am very satisfied with the game and i eagerly await the expansion that comes out in spring of 2009

I'm playing this game, and I generally dislike the idea of prepainted minis.
This game is very fun, if you've ever enjoyed: Godzilla, ultraman, powerrangers(yeah.. admit it... or don't. I grew up with the stuff where it originally COMES from) etc. I think you will really get a kick out of it if you give it a chance.
The minis look GREAT for pre painted the system is solid. PP has a winner in my book.
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
I've played this game and I find it to be pretty amusing. It's not bad.
It's weird, because the figures themselves are consistently, but simplistically painted, and the whole thing really smacks of something that would be a game played over a few beers, except the game is actually as complex as any other PP product.
(You kinda get the idea that PP loves super-complex rules-sets.)
I like the general flow of play, I love the sliding damage thing.
I generally don't like collectible games because of the whole "Whoever spends the most money wins" and if I were to ever get a army of my own, I would buy the figures individually. (I do like the Martians) I definitely do not like weird dice. Specially colored dice is one thing, but mixing up the 1-6 pattern just screams "something else you need to buy!"
At my LGS this is the game that is always around and everyone has demo'ed it, then gone back to 40k, WHFB, or WM/H.
If it were up to me, I would streamline the rules just a tad to make it a little more of a fast-and-loose game to be played over a few beers, I would use normal dice, and I would ditch the collectibility thing and allow figures to be purchased in blisters.
After all, PP already has a really good complex game.
WHFB: Dwarfs || WH40k: Imperial Fists, Necrons || WM/H: Trollbloods || BFG: Necrons
It's completely sold out all over the city and my LGS is complaining orders for anything from PP that isn't Monsterpocalypse are being ignored.
So somebody must be playing it! Not me though, can't find a copy!
