Hello, i wasn't sure if this was the correct place to post this, but I've been playing W40K for awhile now, and I'm looking to start with Warhammer Fantasy. I'm having trouble deciding which army to run; basically what i'm looking for is a very strong static-shooty/gunline army, what army(ies) would fit this tactic well?
Are you sure you just want a gunline? Most players will tell you that's not very much fun for you or your opponent, just sitting and shooting all game, and you can have a much more interesting time by running a more balanced list.
If you are determined to make a gunline, then Empire or Dwarfs are your best bet. They both have good shooting troops and an array of warmachines.

Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.

Dark Elves can also be fairly shooty, and are quite powerful with their new army book.
That being said, I agree with Ancalagon that shooty armies get boring quickly and don't usually stack up competitively.
well not strictly gunline, i would want to run some cc defenders, but basically a static force yeah, it's just that i always run rapid-deployment fast armies in 40K, and i want to try the static tactic on for size, but thanks for the help!

and competitively how do static forces measure up? It wont be completely shooty, just a lot
