Kickstarting Kings of War

Hey guys

Was wondering whether you'd heard that Mantic have started a Kickstarter project. The third edition of Kings of War is about to be released and Mantic are raising money to fill out the gaps in the range and release some really cool stuff. All of the pledge levels give significant discounts on RRP as well. It all seems like a really good idea. I'd been out of the hobby for a while, but Kings of War really got me back into it big time. Really balanced, tactical game, really cheap figures and some awesome ideas for the future (their Werewolf and Ogre concepts for starters). Fantastic service on top of that. No chance of me going back to Warhammer now.

The $100 pledge level in particular gives a huge amount of stuff, and at the speed they're reaching their stretch goals there's just going to be more and more free figures. Just thought I'd do my bit for the community and let people know - the more money they make, the more I get

What are people's thoughts on Kings of War here?

I have been known to use my GW armies with the Mantic KoW rules (REALLY easy set of rules to get a friend up and playing right away) and have been following the Kickstarter program they have. Although I have not pledged yet, that $110 level will get me way over 70 figures (about 100 if I go for the Orc Army) and so many extra goodies it is unbelievable.

Although you get the stuff spread out over the time it takes to make them, all in all a pretty good deal. I have a number of their minis and think some are much better than others, but I do like the direction some are headed.

I really cannot find any fault in the GW line - except the price.... It is just nice to have an option for minis and rules.

Hopefully, with all of the promises made for the stretch goals they keep breaking, they have not over-promised and then end up under-delivering and go out of business!!

The recently posted concept art for the Celestial Angel Warrior is so awesome it is unbelievable...The armoured battle nuns look like Woody Allen's "Sleeper' to me - those need to go back to the drawing board...
