Infinity ITS Tournament - Glen Burnie, MD

For those interested in the general area and interested in either joining or just seeing what the game is about,

Games and Stuff is hosting their first Infinity ITS tournament this Saturday, July 28th over in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

The entry fee is $10, and they would appreciate sign-up in advance so they know have an idea of how many tables they should set up, but its not required. Just show up with your army, a list, and whatever else you need to play. (also, if you're registered, remember to bring your ITS number)

250pts/5swc lists with the standard tournament rules applied, ie proper models where available, no mercenaries/mercenary companies, etc. Painted models are not required.

Full information on the even can be found on the Games and Stuff website here:

My friend and I are coming up from Virginia, there's others coming down from Pennsylvania and a maybe a couple from New York or other roadtrippers, so if you're interested and are in the area, it'll be a great opportunity to see the game played in person.

The tournament was a pretty big success, as far as a first-time and lesser-known games go. 11 people showed up with half being from out of town (like myself), though most were regulars on the Infinity forum (which is fairly small, so everyone was familiar with each other).

Here's some random pics from my games, used for my battle reports in my blog. Unfortunately, due to the amount of secrecy needed in-game, people weren't really allowed to watch each other play, so I couldn't get any pictures of other peoples games. As things like who the Leader is and what troops are hidden on the table or awaiting to arrive from airborne deployment are left aren't revealed until used, and certain lists (like mine) depended on a certain amount of secrecy.

and then 2 of the more visually impressive tables that I unfortunately didn't get to game on. (second one was brought in by one of the players)

And then one random one of my friend and I playing when we got back from the tournament.

It was a blast. My only other comment is that the tournament seemed a little light on terrain, allowing plenty of firing lanes across the table. But, it was their first one though and it can be hard to scrounge up the amount that would be needed to fill multiple tables for a once-in-a-while event, especially considering how much more terrain intensive Infinity is than other games. It didn't seem to affect most of the other players though, so maybe my group just plays with too much terrain and LoS-disruption, though I don't think there's such a thing though in Infinity (at least according to their forums).

The next ITS tournament for Infinity in the area is at NOVA in early September. Takes place fully on Sunday, only conflicting with round 7 and 8 of the 40k open GT.
