It is a big "no,no" to post all the individual point costs for upgrades...GW get's kinda upset when dealing with intellectual property rights so you should edit your post....just give overall unit cost with upgrades rather than showing all the individual costs. Burst Cannon and Missle Pod is a wacky combination...the ranges just don't work well together...go Plasma Rifle and Missle Pod w/multi tracker or twin link your Missle Pod...also you might want to check your marker drone cost...I don't think that is correct. Grenades are not worth it on the Fire Warriors...Devilfish is a good idea but seeker missle isn't worth it with only one markerlight in your army. I'd scrap all the upgrades on the Devilfish, all the grenades from the Fire Warriors and the Marker Drone from the HQ and buy yourself a small group of Kroot, especialy since you technically need 2 Troop choices to have a legal list. ( Don't know if your using those rules in a 500 pt game...I know my crew does) Hopefully these suggestions help |

Tau Guy, I've got a few suggestions for the list. Let's go piece by piece. HQ: Commander 97pts Plasma Rifle Missile Pod Hard wire drone controller 1 gun drones I would likely drop the drone controller and the drones. With the points regained here, you can add a targeting array to up the BS by 1 and a multitracker allowing you to fire both weapons in one turn. Elite: Stealth suit 92pts 2 burst cannons Fusion blaster Not a bad unit. Depending on how you will use them, I would advise against the fusion blaster. While it is only 2 more points, it cuts the effective range of three shots by 6 inches. An 18 inch JSJ set can still be within rapid fire range. Troops: Fire warrior 170pts Pulse Rifle Shas’ui Hard wire drone controller 3 Gun drones I believe you have too many gun drones here. You can have 2 per controller. If you drop one of the drones, you can add a bonding knife and have 10 more points to spare. Kroot 86pts Shaper: Pulse Rifle Kroot shapers tend to not be worth their point cost. At least that is the general concession. Also, a minimum set of kroot with a pulse rifle geared shaper is 96 points. Drop the shaper and you should be able to bring your krot cost down to 70 points. Vehicle: Devilfish 100pts Disruptor Pod A devilfish with a disruption pod should only be 85 points. 15 more points right there. Army Points: 439 Not a bad list. The closer you come to 500 points, the better. I calculate your point cost (with my suggestions) to be 497 points. I assume you are using a battlefrce box? This is a great place to start. With those 3 extra points, it may very well be worthwhile to spend 2 of them to add a fusion to the stealth squad. It will be tricky; but with the right use of cover, you should be able to put them out of sight after shooting. For the Greater Good, Ainom |

I agree with most of what was said by the previous poster. I agree...drop the shaper...you might want to add some Kroot Hounds though, they are spectacular in close combat, really adding bite to your Kroot. I like the Multitracker, Target Array, but it does leave your HQ a little exposed so you'll have to make sure you are aware of where cover is during your game. Missle Pod(HQ) and Fusion Blaster(Stealth) are your only source of armor kill so hit their Light Armor quickly and hard because if you lose these guys your enemy armor will run the rest of the game unopposed. Disruptor Pod is a value for it's point cost so I can't fault you for keeping it, I was just trying to open up as many points as possible...500 pts is all about being as efficient as possible without sacrificing versatility. What army are you gonna be playing against? |
