Black Sun Filters will do nothing for the Crisis suits with twin-flamers. Flamers are already as accurate as they are going to be and you should be able to spot something in range as the template is only 8" long and you can automatically spot up to 6". With the ability to take both a targeting array and a hard-wired multi-tracker your HQ team would be better with either a Fireknife or Helios configuration. Deathrains don't work as well in teams of 3 due to the larger footprint. I would recommend splitting it into a team of 1 and a team of 2, or better yet, find points for another one and take 2 teams of 2.

I took the black sun filter to because of it was the cheapest hard point not because of any advantages it would have, I'm using the flamer as more of a suicide suit so I want it to be as cheap as possible.

In which case a single suit will do very little but die. If you intend to field it a suicide unit then make it fit for purpose, take a unit of 3, give them shield generator and upgrade 1 to a team leader for a bonding knife. It is more expensive, totalling 163 pts, but they put out enough templates to eliminate units or force them to run due to casualties and the shield generators allow them to last longer.

k, my thoughts, no body guards, put the point to a second HQ 2x deathrain 2x Flamer, like you have them, if you have the pints try -2x flamer -1x missile pod also, more FW. I actually dont like Rail heads AT ALL! lol, im a bad tau commander. How ever, try, just try to have the XV88 be the anti heavy armor and your death rain anti med armor, and FW anti Light Armor (the can pen. some armor, and glance Rhino) With the saved points take another squad of Path finders, I am running 16 total right now, then uses those DeVvil fish for the FW This may give you enough pionts for another XV88 My Ideas, Gives you - 2 very accurate "everything" suits - 2 very very accurate anti transport - 36 of the best inf. guns in the game and anti light armor and inf. - 16 Marker lights that make everything else all the deadlier - 3+ of very very accurate S10 AP1 pwnage ** and i know Marker light are discouraging as you pay SO many pints for guys that dont do damage, but if you hit with 5 lights, use 2 to get your FW to BS5, and then the other 3 to lower LD, you could make alot of stuff run!!, or igonore cover for that railguin shot sniping the preditor in cover!!!! they are INVALUABLE and not used enough, IMHO Hope this helps and sorry for how random i seem thank you this kid evan |
