Rep Power: 55 ![]() ![]() | I wonder what you think of the following: Patrol Leader: 1 x Shas'vre with hard-wired multi-tracker wearing XV8 Battlesuit with Burst Cannon, Plasma Rifle & Missile Pod 90pts 4 x XV15 Stealth Team Shas'iu 120 pts 11 x Shas'la Fire warriors with Pulse Rifle 1 x Shas'ui Fire Warrior with Pulse Carbine 130pts 5 x Gun Drones (independent squadron) 60pts Total 400pts exactly. Alternatively: 1 x Shas'vre XV8 Battlesuit with Multi-tracker, Plasma Rifle & Missile Pod 75pts 4 x XV15 Stealth Team Shas'iu 120 pts 11 x Shas'la Fire warriors with Pulse Rifle 1 x Shas'ui Fire Warrior with Pulse Carbine & EMP Grenades 133pts 6 x Gun Drones (independent squadron) 72pts Total 400pts exactly. It depends or not on whether the Shas'vre can have a hard-wired multitracker as a gear option and whether 3 systems on the suit are worth it (I know I can only fire 2 at a time) Last edited by vorlon; July 31st, 2005 at 13:29. |

Hey vorlon, Welcome to Libraium Online. Congrats on your correct use of grammer, and spelling (not many juniors do this). The list looks fine, but I would personally drop the burst cannon on the Shas'vre, and spend the points else where (perhaps a makerlight on the 'ui?). And drop the Carbine in the Fire Warrior squad, it really doesn't fit. Other wise, well done. For you convience there is an Tau Army List forum that its is preffered that you post your army lists in. If you could post there next time that would be great. Its here: http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ysprune=&f=159 Enjoy LO, and For the Greater Good Yossanrion

But seeing as its here, I suggest you drop the drones in favor of maxing out the Stealth squad's numbers, you'll thank me for it, trust me. Just leave the BC off and take the MT normally, its cheeper, the MP and PR are more likely to kill things anyways. Welcome to LO and have fun! For teh Greater Good!!! i like the idea about using keeping the drones there so usefull. You can do so much with them like bodyguard a commander that's a huge multi wound commander in far words but it's still a good list i hope you don't mind me using list for my games i really like it. Kurt

I decided to drop the EMP grenades and add a hard-wired blacksun filter to the "commander" - I figured that would be more useful if we were required to scout at night 1 x Shas'vre hard-wired blacksun filter, XV8 Battlesuit with Multi-tracker, Plasma Rifle & Missile Pod 78pts 4 x XV15 Stealth Team Shas'iu 120 pts 11 x Shas'la Fire warriors with Pulse Rifle 1 x Shas'ui Fire Warrior with Pulse Carbine 130pts 6 x Gun Drones (independent squadron) 72pts Total 400pts exactly. The Pulse Carbine is mainly to make the squad leader a bit different - fluff rather than tactics

I like the list but you will probably need a shield generator on your XV8 since it will attract a lot of fire, so will you stealths but they are more capable to survive it

It's a Shas'vre. All the Shas' get confusing, but a Shas'vre is just like a normal Crisis Suit.

The list looks good. I too like gun drones. However, I'd like to suggest your Shas'vre take a plasma rifle and an ion blaster. Everything else in your list is S5 AP5 (except MP), you might need a little extra punch to pierce armor or just negate 3 regular armor saves at about one foot or less, good for those multi wound commanders. Another idea is to take a Devilfish. Drop the drones, a FW, and leaders BSF and it'll fit nicely. Mobility is a huge factor in a small battle as this. Deciding when and where to fight is a major advantage. With a Devilfish your whole list can keep up and fight as a one unit. In a combat patrol can you substitute an HQ choice?
