Tau Conversions

Hello Fine Followers of the Fine Path,

Does anyone have pics or ideas for Tau Conversions? Conversions are some of my favorite things to do to models, and I am in need of inspiration.

All suggestions are welcome, (just not to pricy!)

Well, you can always go eith the clasic crisis conversions...as if we haveny had enough of those....Oh and nice farsight.

how about a crisis with the booster unit elongated or modiefied to look like wings, and toes made to look like talons...

Im planning on doing a semi-conversion with my Hammer Head tanks... Since, I want to be able to use Gun Drones on them occationally, Ive decided to mount the 2ndary weapons elsewhere, though havent figured out where yet.

Going to probably using some plasic card to add extra armour plates to my hammerheads, as well as a pair of seeker missile racks for each.

Also plan on converting my Shas'O Commander. Im going to give her a sword in one hand. Gonna use a "Classic Grey Knight Terminator Force Sword Bit" ). Also going to give her wings from cutting up a "Dark Eldar Hellion Skyboard Bit".

Im gonna to cut down 2 target locks, and put them on the sides of my commanders head.

Im going to draw up 2 long flowing banner, which will come out her chest and wrap arround her a little, and then flow out. I think it will be nicely done, by taking paper, and folding it arround some stiff wire.

Finally will finish her off by using small wires and stuff obtained from hardware stores and radio shack. ( Excellent places for bits, btw. )

Im going to heavilly convert the pose on my Broadside, and using brass parts and what ever I can find from hardware store to make a pivot / power supply system to mount the duel linked Rail guns. I.e. They will be able to pivot up and down.

Ill finish off the Broadside by using wires for power cables.

Since Im only going to have 2 Fire Warrior Squads, Im gonna use the binocular bits from the tanks on 1 guy in each unit.. probably only have one using them, and the other hanging by a strap. On my FW Shas'ui's, I ordered spare Pathfinder Carbine bits, to cut the marker lights off of to attach to Pulse Rifles. Im also going to give one guy per team Rail Rifle, and one person per team a Flamer from the Crisis suits. Though, im sure im going to have to cut it down, and mod it a little.

I dont think im going to have anyone give me dirt about the WYSIWYG rule cuz, the flamer and rail rifle is for looks only. They will be armed with Pulse Rifles like everyone else. I find Pulse Carbines to be crap, and a waste. I will never use them besides drones.

For my Kroot Master Shaper, Im going to order another Shaper to use as bits.. and with the 4 spare kroot im going to have, It shouldnt be hard to Mod up my own Kroot Master Shaper.

Im debating on purchasing a bunch of classic fantasy bits from this falconer guy... I could cut the wings off, and stick them on my kroot. They would be too small to fly with, but, Kroot are Birds, why not be flightless ones. I dont think im going to though... I want wings big enough for my kroot, but they dont seem to make any bits that fit the right size... so, screw it.

To finish off, im going to use LED's to light my tanks. No clue how im going to do it... but, when I do, ill take lots of digital pics of the process, and post a guide on it when im done.

For my shas'o i made a big cummunication dish on his back. I glued the top of a drone on his back and put to shield drone anteenas on it. Than i put a wire from the side of his head to the cummunication. Also, i made a nice lokkin sniper team for my tau. I'll post pics soon.

Here's my conversion idea that I hope to start work on after the holidays are done. An interesting look to a shield drone. Take two drone saucers, drill a hole all the way through them. Attach some a clear colored rod (like necron guns but I'm thinking red) through the hole connecting the drone saucers from top to top. Then take 4 drone antenna and create a diamond on each drone side. Using green stuff, make a circle around those points to show an energy field being formed. Then create thin lightning bolts to attack from around the drone from each circle to show the energy field completely surrounding the whole drone. Hopefully I'll have some basic modeling done by mid January and I can post some pics to show them off. No point to this as I rarely use shield drones, but cool to look at none the less.

I know. I was going to Mod up some sheild drones myself, but, screw it, Id never us em.
