Well, i've played 4 games against chaos now, and the cornerstone of my opponent's forces are defilers and chaos daemons. I can handle the defilers with deep striking crisis suits and railguns, but he frequently deploys large squads of horrors and furies, typically in front of my troops! They can assault and move a total of 24'' when they land, which dooms any suits or FW caught in the open. I'm considering buying a few squads of Kroot in order to combat his CC daemons. Unfortunately, my budget is only 100 dollars, and I still need more crisis suits and heavy support.
I have:

1 Shas'o
1 Aun
3 FW squads
2 Devilfish
1 GD squad
1 Hammerhead

I think you can get 3 crisis suit with 100 dollars. Do it. Broadsides are usually important too, if you find some more money. But with that army I suppose you would rather stealthsuits and kroot, and another hammerhead.

At only $20 per Crisis Suit, you can afford three plus a single Broadside suit with your budget. Or, probably, a third Devilfish for your troops to stay out of CC with and to make your list Mech.

Is there a special rule that they can assault when they come in? "Land" makes it sound like they Deep Strike, and all you get when you Deep Strike is the shooting phase - no movement, no assault.

I really would like to complain and whinge RIGHT NOW that they are $30 where I live. Sorry, this must be my first spam post. But seriously

hmm yes I didnt pick up on the 'land'. make sure he isn't assaulting on the turn he deep strikes, then hit them with all the firepower of your (up to 5 now ) crisis suits, and then run away

When Tau first came out, and when my friend bought them, they were $15 apiece. And vehicles were $5-$10 cheaper than they are now. And Pathfinders with Rail Rifles came 3 in a blister, instead of 2.

In the land down under, crisis suits cost $30 Australian Dollars! :realmad:
Never the less, they are good units when used effectively. You want a unit that's able to take on Daemons and defilers, i'd suggest a stealth suit team, all those hots and only a 5+ inv save, that's gonna hurt. For defilers, bring on the hammerhead with Railgun, which can move and fire, much more effective than a mere Broadside team.

Daemons do not Deepstrike, they are summoned. Once they are summoned they can take their turn as normal, meaning they can move, shoot and assault the turn they pop out. Ask your friend to show you the summoning rules to make sure heis following them correctly, but the daemons moving and assaulting is legal.

Get a hammerhead with submunitions...I'm sure if you place the large template
over the deamons you can take out a bunch.

But on prices of crisis, yeah GW sells a team of three fo $60 on the us website.
I'd like to get a petition going but i dont think that would work.

Play Mech,

Oh no Daemons!!! in the transport, close the hatch, point and laugh. Shoot with Sumbunitions. Voila. Keep you Crisis suits jumping as far away as possible and kill the CSM squads with Icons. I hate Chaos, along with Necrons they muller Tau.
