It just occurred to me recently that i have never actually posted my army list here! So i though i would just incase anyone is interested, has any comments, suggestions or questions.
My list is the result of over 3 years playing TK as my only army. Little changes have been made from time to time, but the Core of the list has remained the same. It does pretty well in semi-competitive play at my local store. This summer has been particulalry good, i havent lost yet (touch wood). Except 1 loss at my 1st tourney i went to, against dual Treeman WE list...
Anyway, no more blabbing, heres my list (updated 22/02/09):
GW, S, LA
Cloak of the Dunes
Collar of Shapesh
GW, S, LA
Casket of Souls
21 Skeleton Warriors
21 Skeleton warriors
2 Tomb Scorpions
Screaming Skull Catapult
Skulls of the Foe

OMG at the 0 dispel scrolls. You're a gamblin man!
It is, of course, a solid list and I don't think anyone expected otherwise.
A little plain for my taste though. TK aren't exactly a flashy army to start with so I like to have toys to play with.
Well, I have to agree with Nepphy on the no magic items part. However, right on about no scrolls. Offense all the way!
You have always said you go magic light but when you actually see it lol!
Very solid list, not much I can say really. I think I would throw in a scroll and if you can work the points a ward save (either) on the Casket priest unless you hope for a first turn carrion charge to deal with anything that can hurt it from long range which is a very valid tactic (its what I use)
Bah! The less i spend on faffy magic items the more i get for my troops!
And as a general rule, i dislike 'one use only' items. That includes scrolls
I guess it doesnt look like much on paper, but for a TK list its pretty big unit wise.
Whilst at Uni ive been considering getting some TG in there for my King to join, dropping both Skellie warrior units and ... errrm... one of the special choices to accomadate them. Probably a Scorp, then my 3rd Core will be Scarab Swarms.
However from experiance, my lists devised whilst away from the game tend not to do too well I may try this one though.
In this current list where do you play the TK and TP with the skellies or in the chariots?
If you can get TG in their do it. Trust me 20 TG with Icon of Rakaph and a TK with Flail of skulls and a golden ankhara is nasty!
Thanks for the feedback guys! Been a while since anyone looked at my list i think lol.
I am still having a problem with HOW TO USE the army. I really like the setup of this, and I **think** I see its possibilities. I just haven't gotten the hang of deployment and how to actually utilize my units. This is a very broad/general issue...but I would appreciate some info on how you deploy/utilize an army such as this.
Basically, my deployment revolves around the SSC and Casket, close enough to each other so that the casket priest can smite the SSC. I use a hill if available, if not refused flank is another option, although i generally try to aim for the best SSC LoS.
Skellie archers sit infront (if on a hill) or to the sides of (if not) the casket and SSC, prince and king in a unit each. (Prince may start with SSC) Basically i hold back and pummel the enemy at range for turns 1-3.
Scorps ICFB if necessary, and the Carrion look for T1 charges and/or march blocking. If scorps have no ICFB targets then they make good line defence, protecting the key componants from fast assault and able to launch speedy assaults of their own later on.
Chariots hover on the flanks waiting for a good oppertunity...
Once the (weakened) enemy gets close, magic turns to the offense. Usually whatever Ushabti crash into doesnt last the turn. Skellies make great sponges, with the TK/TP boosing with some much needed killing power. If i need a sacrificial unit then the hero will leave the unit first.
Hiero flies around, doing his thing Aaand i think thsat just about covers it
