Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey guys, just another list here.
After deciding to expand my TK forces exponentially I've come up with the following list:
Light Armour (Arguably useless but I just can't imagine a lord without any armor)
Destroyer of Eternities
Cloak of the Dunes
Chariot of Fire
Liche Priest (Hierophant)
Liche Priest (Lesser)
Casket of Souls
Collar of Shapesh
Banner of the Undying Legion
Skeleton Warriors x20
Skeleton Warriors x20
Tomb Guards x20
Icon of the Sacred Eye
Tomb Swarm x1
Tomb Scorpion x1
Screaming Skull Catapult x1
Skulls of the Foe
2k on the nose
To elaborate on some of the unorthodox choices in this list I'll do a little rundown
First off is the Cloak on the King - not only do I find this conceptually totally awesome, but also after a ton of proxied battles I have never had any issues keeping my Hierophant safe on nothing but a Skeletal Steed (I just take a little longer to assess his next move and where he'd be the safest) People fear the Tomb King, people fear him even more when he can go anywhere he damn well pleases
Collar of Shapesh on the Liche controlling the Casket - not quite sure if this is rare yes or no but this is obviously the best form of protection you can offer him (basicaly a un-negatable 4+ ward save) and the Casket will always be right next to the Catapult so the priest has someone to smite and transfer the wounds upon
Banner of the Undying Legion on the Charioteers - Because people completely fear the Casket they tend to save their dispell dice completely or skimp on the amount of DD they throw at earlier spells. The Prince is going to be rolling with the charioteers and I've found that his "My Will be Done" and their Banner makes them completely self sufficient
Light Armour on the Skeleton Warriors - They're a tar pit, with light armour, a shield and a hand weapon they get a respectable 4+ save
Icon of the Sacred Eye on the Tomb Guards - I find that Tomb Guards rely on their Killing Blow ability and because WS3 isn't exactly good this helps them out alot by getting those hits in so that they can atleast attempt a killing blow (Also you would get twice the use out of this banner if you combo these guys into combat by casting Urgency/Smiting on them allowing them to use the +1 to hit twice as described in the entry for Righteous Smiting)
Thanks for taking a look and have fun!
Some interesting ideas for sure. I'm still not sure about the Collar on the Casket. Where do you plan to transfer wounds to?
I'm curious to see how it plays out though. Be sure to report back with some results!
The Catapult will be deployed 4" from the Casket. It's totally legal to transfer the wound onto the SCC and it's crew using the collar, so generally the first wound suffered would be transfered onto one of the crew because this does not affect the rate of fire at all (1 crew member slain halves movement speed of the warmachine I believe) and the rest would be transfered onto the catapult itself (which is completely healable)
Also when deploying these two bad boys within 4" of eachother they will generally have the same line of sight, which means that in order to avoid massive damage from the casket the opposing army will have to keep their army near the General which, coincidentally, increases the accuracy of my SCC by alot (and by that I mean my chances of hitting anything at all)
Given your reasonings, id say it looks good
Couldn't you also turn around and heal the SSC with Djedra's?
Yup, thats possible.
I really like all your ideas the cloak on the king sounds fun! War machine crews beware of a first turn charge!
Im assuming king can cast the extra movement spell on himself. Can he also then cast smiting on himself giving his the DoE special attack in the magic phase, then again in the combat phase? If so your king has become a flying nightmare!
I'd be really careful with that combo since you can't charge with the Cloak.
Yes, the King can use his Incantation to move in the magic phase, but if it gets dispelled, he's a sitting duck.
Dont get me wrong, its a risky move, but he can cast 2 incantations remember so that gives him a bit more chance to get one through.
Just sounds like such a fun unusual thing to do that an opponent might not be expecting.
If you make him fear more than the TK with DoE, he might have problems in dispelling all of Incantations and "My Will be Done"'s. It is a matter of prior though... If you can trick him to choose whether he wants some Carrions (Maybe something to add to your list with this as a purpose) or the TK to come into "Funny Situations" (You know what I mean)
And I would also prefer the SotCW on the Chariots because of their big bases (You'll in the battle slaughter even more with Leadership-based tests and so, if combined with other charges, you will easily make the enemy units flee - one by one).
It was an interesting army list I must say. I wish you Luck
