this is such an odd number to be running games off of but were gonna be playing this number for our games the next couple weeks... so I'm seeing what other T.K. players think of the compositions. I'll be separating the heroes into the units they'll likely be joining.

any suggestions. i really the flexibility of the list myself. i was also thinking of upping the warriors to 40 block. or adding another 10block of archers but it's a pain to try and add when i have to cut something from thsi tightly bound list.
Edit 1:changed princes item choices, took out SB in archer block, champ in chariots, Champ out of heavy Cav 74 pts over -> 30 pts over

Several reliable sources tell me champion on chariots is a big waste of points so maybe shave him?
Another thing im not sure about, collar on priest? If hes in the unit, whys he gonna need it? he has look out sir for shooting and stuff, and champion to accept challenges for him. Also spears? Hold on hes your heirophant, ok now im confused, why have you given your non heirophant the cloak?
I dont know bout the light cav. use em as a retinue for a mounted priest fine but on their own? why not replace em with 3 carrion, higher WS Higher toughness, 1 more wound and attack. Only thing they cant do of course is shoot.
Also, is your tomb prince unit a mild hitter mild absorber or are you going to be using him as a heavy sledge hammer? If its the latter maybe try crook and flail of radiance plus icon of the sacred eye instead of mirage, sacrifices some stayability but gives far harder hit. Guess it depends if your fighting a gunline or a melee force.
You could easily lose dispel scoll and heiro jar for points if needs be. if you made ALL the changes i said it comes to 1791.

-spears on warriors -30 pts i tried hand weapons but it really only works with TG which i dont have yet. so i keep the spears for the extra attacks, i don't usually charge with this unit so the spears always seem to be helpful.and i belive if i make my unit swing during the magic phase even on a charge they get to strike as if they hadn't charged so if i am correct i get ten swings instead of 5 in the magic phase.
-hieor jar and d.scroll -50 pts <- as miniscule as they seem on points they can be very useful. an extra magic missiles to make a unit panic and run away, or any of my other spells when they get dispelled or to make both my cat and 20 block of archers shoot during the magic phase and the shooting pahse narsty imo. i might drop the d.scroll just cause it annoys me to play them no matter how useful they may be.

No, if you make em attack they get any bonuses and negative modifiers they would normally get on that turn, so if you have charged you only the front rank can attack.
One thing i have never worked out if if the second rank can magically attack as well, cos the spell does say any models they are in base contact with, does it mean that the unit has to be in base contact, or the individual models, hopefully Phoenix can enlighten me here.
agreed. if it doesn't work that way then i probably will drop the spears. cause they are only really good on the second round of combat after a charge. or if your unit does well when charged against most people having 5-10 ws3+ attacks which most of the time, are str 4 so the saves are rather miniscule.
it pretty much relies on that spells to whether or not the spears stay. well not just that but if the spears are replaced, it takes me to exactly 1850 points with the current list i have up top.
the only time the spell would benefit them is while not on the charge for the models that can swing. i think if i interpreted the book correctly on spears and added it to the spell description... but i cut the spears anyways just to make the army 1850 the easiest way possible. prob wrong on the spell but we can figure that out later
Nice models btw, loved the yellow and black theme on your skellies.
Drop the Hieros Collar for the Cloak, and maybe add H.Jar or possibly the Mighty Plaques... standard Hiero config really. Hes fine in that unit which the enemy are advancing, but get him outta there as soon as they get close! Any Priest in a combat based unit is asking for a slaying!!!
Drop the 30 Warriors down to 24/25 and have 2 units of that size(ish)
Possibly add 2 more Heavy Cav and run 7x2. Can be a decent unit
Any chance you could get a 4th Ushabti? And also fill your specials with a Scorp or 3 Carrion.
Maybe mount your second Priest and have him ride with the Cav (or alone) using the SoRav.
all those ideas sound awesome phoenix but where would the points come out of?
1850 is pretty tight number to fit in what i want. and unfortunately i don't have carrion yet
