2k friendly against the High Elves

I am building a 2000 points army which I will use against High Elves, I have never played with them before, so I am not sure what is good, and foolish.. Not sure what kind of High elves army, but I think he will use an army with a dragon, or an army with just spellcasters. Here is the list:

I am using a lot of tomb guards, thats because I love them, but I wonder if 24 is too much? Have you any comments and advice, since I am building/painting the army (almost done), please tell what I should change, remove and add. Long live the Tomb Kings (if the army is good enough)

Yeeeeeeaaaah, here it comes!

I am playing versus HE as my regular opponent, so I might be able to give you some tips



Tomb King: The DoE never seems to work against HE, sadly... I would suggest the SoA and Death Mask of Kharnut. That combo will surely kick HE arses (SoA, DMoK and CoS)

The LPs: They are quite good... Be sure to know that they will be nothing compared with a HE magic or anti-magic list.

Bowmen: Very good to have! I prefer regiments of 24-25, but I use to play 2250 points The regiment of 11 bowmen will not do anything, a waste of points if you ask me (when facing HE). With that regiment, you just make up an off- finished regiment ---> No threat to the elves... Change the weapons on the skellies to bows, and have only Musician on these is my tip.

The TGs can be really good to use, and when used in big regiments, they are far better Keep this unit! But make sure it will enter combat AND watch out for Ellyrian Reavers (vs SSCs) and Dragon Princes!!!

What I am most afraid of, is if he is going to use 1 level 4, and 1 level 2 magic... It is soo difficult againstarmies with much magic.

Well, small regiment with skellies are there just to get more arrows. Or could I change them for carrions, so I can fly over the field and take out some bolt-throwers, and maybe a single character?

I like very much DoE, but if you say it doesn't work that well, I will try SoA. And the mask? Many have said to me it is useless, but I like terror

And moreover, I also wonder how I best can take out his fast cavalry, since I am a little bit slow, but, off-course, my incantations...

If he use a dragon and a mage, I maybe try to give my king CoD, FoS, so I can fly over to it and kill the dragon with a couple of double wounds, sounds that crazy?

I shall see what I can do with my army..
Well, I will ask if I have more questions about the HE.

I don't know why people do not use the Mask,,, Terror is always a benefit, greater than greatest.


Shoot the fast cav with your bowmen!


The TK sounds crazy If you try to take the dragon, try Blade of Setep and aim for the rider (they got low T so don't bother high strength in these cases ). When the rider is dead, make sure you got a hard unit (like ushabtis) in the flank of the dragon and kill it. Use CotD on the Hierophant!

I have dropped some skellies, to just add the carrions... Do you think this will work against HE?

This list would definitely work well against HE.


Be careful though... I would suggest that you switch the TGs for Skellie Bowmen instead. This will give you some points to make two BIG regiments.
Reason: You're playing vs a HE opponent. He will most likely use lots of Wizards with the Lore of Light (where the first spell inflicts D6 S6!). If there are Skellies, every loss will be a little better than if it was TGs

Well you say something, but I don't have that much skellies, and I love the TGs... But I am afraid of the Wizards though... But what am I going to against a star dragon?

With that list you got almost everything you need to challenge a Star Dragon (ridden by a Prince) You got the large amounts of poisonous attacks, The Killing Blows you need and some Multiple Wounds by the SSCs. You need not to be afraid of the Dragon

First, aim some shots at the Dragon with the SSC. Then, pepper the model with Scorps and Tomb Swarms. Then, make your TGs join the battle and make flank charges by Chariots.

Another option is to leave the model. The Dragon with a fully equipped HE Prince will cost, let me see... 620 pts and even more with additional equipment such as Longbow etc. 620 pts is way too much to bother you,,, it will not take its points back
