Armour of the Ages,
Liche Priest – 165

Liche Priest – 168
Staff of Ravening
Icon Bearer - 65

3 Light Chariots – 140
10 Skeleton Archers 80
2 Tomb Swarms 90
2x Screaming Skull Catapults 180
... This is the army I am going to be collecting. I really love the Ushabti models, so wanted 2 units of them.
Have a game in a weeks time (mostly using 'substitute' models, my opponent has agreed to it though) and will be using this army to see how it works for me... Even if it doesn't, might collect it anyway!
Any comments or advice will be greatly appreciated
Hey Mate It seems like you need some advice, and here it comes
Your TK is good. W5 HA and GW in close combat and a shield for distance AS. I would prefer more items on this character, for he is your general after all...
This LP is most likely the Hierophant. CotD is a very good choice for him. The Plaques can be replaced by the Hieratic Jar though, for a greater effect in times of need (The Plaques will not really do that much unless given to a LHP )
This LP should have been very good - if you had a cavalry unit to protect him with... You could place him with skellies, but that will often make the LP even less flexible, which makes the choice of having a steed unnecessary.
This character is useless! He is actually one of the worst characters in WHFB, where the only benefit he got is to wear a Battle Standard. And if he is NOT fielded with a banner, he will be nothing but a waste of points.
Take a TP or a LP instead...
Good unit... Better if they were five additional TGs though. You must cut down some of the points in your list, and here can be one place to do this. Consider to field skellies instead - in a greater quantity
I am a fan of Ushabtis too But to be blinded by this feeling would be nothing but a shame to a good general... You have two good choices with these units: Either to delete one of the units, adding an Ushabti to the other regiment OR try to squeeze in so that both of the units become four in each.
I would prefer the first (They are good and cool, but cost too much)
Consider in taking five carrions. They will be much better that way (pm me for questions)
Do not field the Chariots with Standard Bearers unless you got pointso over and see reason to do this. They work as a chock troop, not CR troop.
In numbers below 19, they do not work quite well... sadly. Make bigger units, 25 is to prefer.
They will do good if you use them right. I have to trust your commandment skills
Hope It Helps!
Drop the Icon Bearer
Drop one unit of Ushabti and bump the othe unit up to 4, they are much more reliable 4 wide
If you want the Shab, drop the TG for a unit of Skeletons with Light Armour and Shield and the same command set up. they will work just as well as a tar pit and will save you loads of points.
Drop a Carrion (Nagash will disagree as he loves Carrion )
I, however, love Tomb Scorpions, so add one at least
Bumb up the archer unit.
Anyway thats my opinion, so feel free to tell me to get stuffed

I agree to the Scorp option: play with at least one, instead of one Ushabti unit. Or TGs.
The skellies that replace the TGs: I would not like to see them with LA and S. You can get them cheaper AND more effecient if they got bows only. If they die, resummon them (Why play Undead if not using their great benefits? )
And remember... Your best friend is FEAR! Mouhahaha
ANy advice id give would be very similar to Nagash's
The main change that needs making is dropping one of the Ushabti units, giving you the points to boost the other unit to 4 strong and swapping out the IB for a TP or LP.
I think you should change one or two special units(any) To Tomb Scorpion.
You should change the icon bearer into Prince or Priest. If you are going to keep both units of ushabtis, take Priest. I think ushabtis need magic to charge the enemy because they are slow. If the enemy charges them, you can say good-bye to ushabtis.
Prince on chariot wold be good too(If you are not taking all those ushabtis). Take icon of the sacred eye to chariots and Flail of skulls to the prince and put him to a chariot unit so you have a good challenge-boogey.
Thanks a lot guys, some good advice here
The Icon Bearer is there to stay behind the TG and Shabti's so they're not all killed in combat. Would the point definately be better spent elsewhere?
Will drop the standards for the chariots and the 10 bow armed skellies.
The TG to me seemed a far better choice than ordinarey skellies. For an extra 3 points per model you get so many stat increases (ws, s, t, i and ld), killing blow, and still get a 4+ save in combat.
Sorry to say, I have my mind set on two units of Ushabti. The models are superb! And I also like the idea of symmetry, using the TG flanked by the two Shabti units, with the IC loitering about to ease their combat wounds. Will drop the IC though, I think that the points could be put to better use.
I will amend the list when I get back home. And then see what you guys think
Half the fun of playing Warhammer is finding things out for yourself. So will change a few things you more experienced generals have mentioned and keep others as I like them.
Thanks for the replies!!!
You could use an IB... so long as your opponents magic defence isnt too strong.
Running TK, LP, LP, IB gives you 6 "power dice". Get in a Casket for 2 more, and then be sure to add the BotUL and maybe the SoRav to the list, should be pretty strong.
Add your IB to the TG unit, flanked by 2 Ushabti units. Maybe drop the King in with the TG too. Would be a pretty powerful setup, but a bit "all eggs in one basket" really. Still, if its something you want to do, then why not!?
If you really want to keep the icon bearer, some great use to it would be putting it to a ushabti unit and taking icon of the sacred eye.
Uhabtis hitting 3+ or 2+ and wounding usually 2+ and giving -3 save modifier is something that even chaos warriors are afraid of.
With Tomb Guard on the front and ushabtis on flank should break almost any unit.
Banner of the hidden dead is good too. Release some heavy cavalry with it and charge the rear of the enemy.
