    After tournament list reviews

    Hi guys,
as some of you know, I played in a tournament last week-end. I managed a massacre against WoC, then got massacred twice by another WoC and a DE (DE was really fun actually). I've learned a lot during my tournament, and came with a new list. First thing I've learned, the game has 6 turns, not 3. And which phases benefits the most from ''extra'' turns in TK terms ? Magic and shooting. I made the appropriate changes to suit this newly acquired point of view. Also, Catapults are totally awesome.

King with Spear, Scorpion, Vambraces. 260
stick with Ushabtis, I still have to try this set up
    Leech, mount, staff. 168
Leech on Mount with 2x Scrolls, mount. 173
Leech on Mount with Jar, Scroll. 173

    15 Warriors. 120
    15 Warriors. 120
a potential 60 shots a turn, 20 hits, 10 wounds on t3. I needed those in all of my 3 games
    3 Chariots. 120
    3 Chariots. 120
Cheap and fast. I just have to learn when to unleash them

    Scorpion. 85
    Scorpion. 85
    Scorpion. 85 (or 3 Carrions)
I still need the models (for both units), but Carrion seems like a must now. 72 pts for march blockers
    4 Ushabtis. 260

    SSC, Skulls. 110
    SSC, Skulls. 110
skulls would have been usefull more than once, now standart for me

Yeah, TKs can really dominate turns 1-3. Just remember you have the other half of the battle to get through. T3/4 is when your magic should be switching from ranged to combat based offence, assuming of course that the enemy general isnt having the worst possible time on the pain end of the SSCs, in which case keep up the shooting

King with Scorp, is that the Scorp Armour? Normally id say a big "NO!", but... with Ushabti, interesting choice

Btw, its Liche, not Leech lol. Give your Hiero the Cloak, and the jar as he will be the last, most versatile caster. 3 Scrolls looks excessive on paper but may be necessary in some games. Id say 2 in a generic list i think.

Something i've never really considered really, the King wouldn't generally get look Out Sir etc.

However, the main reason its not as common as it could be is because the movement of the Ushabti is decreased by the King.

I think the lack of a Look out sir! roll will probably prove to be the downfall of the survivor king/ushabti marriage TBH. Ushabti are notoriously prone to missile fire woes to begin with so adding a king with a similar achilles heel seems like it will only compound the problem.

I think it could be nigh on spectacular in a list tailored to fight against VC though...

The new list is pretty solid IMHO. I would rather have two units of chariots over a single unit of ushabti any day of the week, but each to their own I guess. I would also jiggle things around a bit to find the 80 or so points needed to bring the bow units up to 20+ (probably from the scrolls etc).

Seems a shame not to use BotUL too...
Because Sun Tzu would play Tomb Kings...

how about putting the king in a chariot with the +1W armor and the spear, then putting him in a unit of chariots? Regenerating chariots! My only other comment is that you might be better off with prince-led tomb guard than with ushabti, especially if you do put the king in a sled.
