Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hello all, name's cco, introduction, introduction, etc. etc.
Moving, on I'm working towards a 2K list, so expect semi-frequent updates.
So then here's my first 500 Points
Tomb Prince: Light Armour, Shield, Chariot, Icon of Leadership. 169 Points
Liche Priest: Skeletal Steed, Hieriatic Jar. 148 Points
5 Light Cavalry. 70 Points
7 Heavy Cavalry. 112 Points
At low Points, my oh-so-expensive heroes suck up a lot of points, but all is not lost. I don't think I'll be facing massive amounts of Dispel Dice/Scrolls down here, nor will I be facing much Magic, 3 Dispel dice should prove ample to stop the bound items and the odd wizard at this point. The enemy should have a little more trouble, as I have 2 or 3 spells per turn, and one of them is cast at 2d6. Anyways, strategy. Thanks to the Icon of Leadership, Princey is a Unit-Breaker. He goes up a Flank (avoiding S6 Weapons, for obvious reasons) casting Urgency on himself, and hopefully getting in a Second Turn Charge, preferably into a Flank, enemy war machines can screw up my plans, so the light cavalry, acompanied by the Liche Priest, open fire on it, hopefully downing the crew in one round. If not, then I can always have him cast Rigteous Smiting on them. For the most part though, it will be the Heavy Cavalry doing the Lions Share of the work, helped along by Rigteous Smiting, mmmmm, more pokey goodness.
Yeah, not the best, but it keeps with a theme. Thoughts? C/C welcome.
hi there, welcome to the undead
im no veteran here so be warned :p
just wanted to say:
did you notice your heavy cavalry costs about the same as a unit of chariots? If it fits in the theme i can see them have bigger damage output. and they have bows wehehe
good luck with your list
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
Thanks, Chariots will get in here, but rememaber that they are Special Choices until I have a Tomb King (The 2000 Mark).
Well, for the limited 500pt starting army i guess its about the best you can do really. The Priest with the Cloak would be nice, instead of a steed. Once you reack 1K, things should become a lot more do-able
I would never consider an all-mounted list without a king, so in other words, it's a nonstarter below 2k. light cav are decent as a "look out sir" vehicle for a mounted LP, but heavies have no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
I like the concept of a list with nothing but chariots, scorpions, and light-cav-escorted priests (with the cloak on the heiro instead of him having a unit of horse archers)...or even a list of nothing but chariots, scorpions, and one cloaked priest. Virtually all lists have some component designed to deal with enemy shooting/static backfield stuff. With a viable all-mounted list, you'd take away that "Sitting duck" target, throwing the enemy's standard battle plan into disarray. Seriously, if you were using carrion to deal with enemy war machines, what would you do with them if faced with a knight-pure bret or empire list? They'd almost be a waste of points all of a sudden!
IG since 1999 __ DA since 2002 __ Tau since 2005 __ SoB since 2007
Brets 1997-1999 __ TK since 2009 __ Empire since 2010
Thanks for the C/C all the main reason I'm not going to go the easier way of only theming the army at 2K is mostly cash constraints, I'm a minor and in that lovely little age range when your parents can't be coaxed to buy yourself, but the locals think that you're somehow scamming them if you ask if you can do any favors for small cash. I DO look awfully suspicious in that hoodie. Oh I'm such a rogue! (I continued to rant like this for a long time, but deleted most of it.)
Anyways, new list time I'm thinking that the Heavy Cavalry will dissipate for the moment but they will be back, mostly because I like the models.
Tomb Prince: Chariot, LA, S, Chariot of Fire. 178 Points
