Hi guys, 2250 point list to take on the 'mighty' wood elves.not sure exactly what his list is like, but I do know he likes to take a treeman lord and stick him in a wood and move him forward. 3 small units of glade guard (x ten), 3 smallish units of dryads (x eight), couple of wardancer units, waywatchers. as such I'm not really sure the scorpions are going to be much use, ditto the carrion as any push forward with them would basically result in their instant death. unless I get first turn charge off and use them to tie up one of his units for as long as possible? (wild riders, etc).anyway, my list as it currently stands is:
Tomb King (DoE, collar of shapesh).
Tomb Prince (chariot, light armour, shield, flail, chariot of fire, golden eye rah-nutt).
Hierophant (cloak of dunes, dispel scroll).
Liche Priest (casket of souls, dispel scroll).
chariots x3 (standard bearer, standard of cursing word) - prince's unit.
skeleton warriors x20 (bows).
skeleton warriors x15 (bows).
tomb guard x23 (full command, icon of rakaph) - king's unit.
screaming skull catapult (skull of the foes).
What do you think? any suggestions to improve?

if you want a banner in the princes unit, i'd go with sacred eye, especially if you want a first turn charge to effect them hard. Tomb scorps are awesome character killers, bury them on his side of the board. if you had 4 scorps and a unit of 5 tomb swarms pop up behind you... it'd prolly be pretty scary. But 2 scorps and possibly swarms of any number could help. Definitely tie them up at least. But nobody plays the same, so trial and error, and good luck.
cheers for that. I might swap it over to the sacred eye - same points total?
Frankly, the 'cursing word' sounds awesome, but I think in reality it will be a bit of a crock - base contact with a chariot is something like 5 normal-sized models, but in reality I'm probably going to be charging them in the magic phase, so I wouldn't even get a chance to use it. and if the combat is still going by MY next magic phase, bye bye small unit of chariots ...
EDIT: just looked it up and saw 'sacred eye' is double the cost. not sure what else I would lose to fit the extra points in - what about the mirage standard instead, just to make sure the chariots do reach combat?
I personally think going with that many scorpions (AND swarms!) would lose me a lot of friends here (Australia). I have still yet to play with my Tomb Kings (even though I bought my first models way back when they first came out), so I'm a bit nervous about just best to play with the 'ICFB' rules. I think I'll only bother to run the two scorpions, though I may add swarms eventually (though given the cost of 2 swarms is basically another scorpion, not sure why people would bother - though I guess is a core and not a special choice).

you don't really have to take a banner, I normally just count on my chariots doing their impact hits and that's about it. A banner could probably find a better place being BotUL in skeles. Could use those skeles as a tar pit and/or get them close enough to your tomb king to be fodder for his Collar of Shapesh. You could trim both chariots size to 3. That way they can't tell which unit you'll put your prince in until your drop him. And playing defensively would probably be the best bet, have the chariots ready for a counter charge/flank. Either way, the more you play the more you'll see what works for you and what doesn't. Good luck.
Thanks Mumm-Ra. Question for you on the chariot units: I get what you are saying about reducing both to 3 so as to confuse the issue of where the prince will go (and I guess to give myself flexibility about where to put him), but does he have to go down at the same time as the chariot, or can the chariot be placed earlier? I'm guessing the answer is no!
