My first thoughts of a 2400 list that should also work on tournaments.

Your king build looks basicly the same as my old king build before i switched to my long lasting king. (My list still has no really effective way for fighting a steam tank or a sphinx but ill try and work around it =P)
Liche Priest doesn't need a save if your playing him right he should never get in combat, give him the earthing rod (so you don't explode) and a scroll to the lvl 2
I also wouldn't touch those hand weapon shield skellies with a stick in competetive games i always compare them to a skaven slave (beacuse there stat lines or the same but the slaves are faster. For 2.5 points you can have a skaven slave with a shield. He is exactuly the same as our skeli but doesn't cause fear and isn't unbreakable however they are a suprior tar pit beacuse they are almost always steadfast (cos there are like 2 million of them) and they don't take extra damage from crumbling so skaven slaves are supirior! There for why bother with skelies at all? For 230 points thats a lot of archers and they do a very similar job. And give your chariots a musician since they are no longer fast cav and they want to be moving and shooting.
I do like the double units of guard i think thats an awsome approach tho the new warsphinx is the tinyest bit good... and i would always try and fit one in. Carrion are excellent.
Catapult is always good to have but im still not sold about the casket but time will tell on that one.
I play in the Netherlands, but fun is my basic motivation over winning in tournaments but it is nice to end in the first half of th entries. So I want to have a bit of a tournament list.
I like the new DoE (not a great weapon but it has the skills, plus heroic killing blow option)
For killing a steamtank or a Sphinx you need a lucky shot from the SSC and otherwise 6's on the roll to wound means always a wound.
I don't now what the earthing rod does exactly, but I will look it up if I use it i.s.o. the 4+ WS.
I am doubting about skellies with spears or archers with bow. The shooting is nice, but won't do great damage. But it is always good there's always some tiny anoying stuff to shoot at. But I think the skellies with spear in hord formation with 40 are nice when you can cast the hexspell on the enemy unit in combat with the -D3 to S and T. Or a lucky fear test that is failed. The enemy must kill it totally to get te point, it will be a short supporting unit. PS I have only have 50 skellies with spear and shield (they look much cooler than the handweapons), I always played them as handweapons, and 30 archers. I am doubting to build another block of 30 spear + shield to make 2 blocks of 40 and 30 extra archers.
Why the musician, can't you make a pivot with a chariot unit? (normal chariots can). And you cannot make the units charge in the magic fase anymore, you an only make a move as if you are in the remaining move section. With the chariots I want to take a good planned devastating charge supported with flank charge, or as a supportive flank charge.
I would like a Warsphinx, but I don;t have the points. I choose the second unit of Tomb Guard for that. The Carrion are beacause I dont have the points for a Scorpion. I could try a Sphinx and take the second Prince or priest out with the Casket.
I think the Casket is nice, lv boundspell with 3D6 against leadership is cool (no line of sight is needed), it is way possible to kill a warmachine that way or shooting units with 10 or 12 men or thin out anoying Chaos Warriors (no armour saves are aloud). Ideally a Warsphinx a SSC and a CoS are in the list so the enemy should choose to pick the targets wisely.
