    New to TK 2k help

hi there, im new to Tomb Kings and have very little experience in Warhammer Fantasy

me and a few of my friends are thinking of starting a few games just to get an idea of how to play and i was thinking of going for Tomb Kings

im interested in making an infantry heavy army, ranks of skeletons and chariots

if anyone has an idea of what my list could or should look like than that would be most appreciated

    thank you

Well, for a skellie horde army, your basic building block is units of 40+ sword'n'board skellies with a prince in there for WS5. The prince should have ~50 points worth of defensive magic items, and the unit should have full command.

Chariots should be taken in units of four. Six is too cumbersome, like trying to autocross a dump truck, but three is a tad bit light in terms of both attacks and wounds.

For specials in my own horde, I have one block of TG for KB goodness, and a block of ushabti for a more pure hammer unit.

A horde needs strong magic support. I prefer to take Khatep plus a second L4 lore of light, but another option would be a second L4 LoN. With Khatep having loremaster, you can effectively get two copies of four spells! In any case, definitely take a casket. I've been doing fine without the hierotitan, but he could be a good choice if you want to drain enemy DD with cheap castings before popping the big one when he's helpless to stop you.

thank for the advice, the army was going for was to be an army with 2 large units of skels, support by a unit of archers and two 3 man chariot units on the flank

being an old ork and nyd player, horde armies are always appealing for me

unfortantely i do not own a full copy of the current tomb king army book, i do own the previous edition, and was wondering if you, or anyone else, would be kind enough and post a list that might be suitable for me

a lot to ask, i know, but i am working on getting the current edition in full

thank you for all your help

i wrote a very (very) rough list

    Grand Heirophant Khatep
    XXX

    Tomb Prince
    -50 points for magic items
    150

    Liche Priest
    -lore of nehek
    -level 2
    105

    tomb herald
    -halberd
    -banner
    -70 points for magic banner

    Skeleton warriors x30
    -spears
    -full command
    180

    skeletom warriors x30
    -full command
    150

    skel archers x20
    120

    chariots x3
    165

    tomb guard x15
    -halberds
    -full command
    -banner of undying legion
    275

    ushabti x3
    150

i have 220 so points spare, not including points i might save from upgrades

the basic plan is to march head on (i am a newb at fanatsy and grand tactics are escaping me at the moment), khatep sits in the archers and does his magic, the priest goes in a warriors squad, prince goes in spear warrior squad, herald goes in tomb guard squad (might switch him with the liche or something) and the ushabti and chariots go on either flank and protect the core

i have probably made several important mistakes but this is just a base plan/idea

Drop the herald. Tomb kings don't beed a BSB with being unbreakable.. it's worthless. You didn't say he was a BSB but you said he took a magic banner so I assumed. Either way, herald is lame!

Also, I'd drop the spears on the skellies. Just doesn't justify the point cost.

With extra points make those 3 chariots into 4, and maybe get another 4. They rock so hard in combat. They are pretty tough, and you can heal them D3+1. My opponents usually focus all their firepower on my chariots that move quickly and I just heal them up.

Banner of the Undying Legion... Not that great imo. Our regular healing is great as it is. I'd rather throw those same dice at a spell that gives them extra attacks or something AND heals them.

Change your level 2 to Lore of Light or something, don't need two Nehks lores.

Add music to your archer bunker!

After all that, with extra points, pick some fun stuff up! Maybe a catapult or scorpion or something (underrated imo). Maybe grab another prince for your other infantry blocks, or Ramhotep or somethin!

Sotul is good on a unit that plans to be out of reach of a caster. And LoN is fine for the minor caster. A second chance at the movement spell when it's dispelled often comes in handy. And Khatep is going to be a major target, a second source of healing is good! I don't like L2 LoL casters, too random. For a non-LoN L2, I go LoD, even though I think LoL is better for TK overall. Do dump the herald, though! And dump the spears. And get the skellingtons up to at least 40 per, and get a second prince. And either the shabs or the TG need to go, with the points going for more models in the unit you keep.
