Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ok...... My idea is instead of having an army that sits back, shoots a ton of arrows or giant flaming screaming skulls, I plan to have an army which will through off my friends, by, of course, by being able to put at least 2 units behind him and charge him that same turn. I Normally play against my friends Lizard Men, and either I slaughter him, or he butchers me. It all depends on how successful my magic is, and I am frankly sick of depending on 5 dispel dice against his 14 power dice  . I plan to out rule the magic phase by just charging him full on. What I mean is that I'll have 5 units come from the sands and the other support where ever they come up. So, here is my list. Tell me what you think I could do better to make it, well, better. Anything thing would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Tomb King on Chariot, light armor, chariot of fire, Golden Eye of Rah-Nutt, Spear of Antarhak and an Enchanted Shield
Icon Bearer on steed with Banner of the Hidden Dead
Liche Priest on a steed with staff of Revening
Liche Priest with Cloak of the Dunes and Neferra's Plaques of Mighty Incantation
Heavy Horse Men (6) men
Heavy Horse Men (16) Full Command and banner of the undying Legion
Chariots (4) Full command and Icon of the Sacred Eye (Tomb King joins up into this unit)
Tomb Swarm (5)
Total is 1991pts
Also, the Point of the huge block of horsemen is to draw a SH*T Load of fire.
Icon bearer is always a waste of points.
Liche priest on a steed is always a risky manoevre.
Too many scorpions, two is more than enough. 5 tomb swarms? Far too much.
I like the icon of the sacred eye on the chariots.
But, this is a very small tomb king army with no sponge units at all, not much magic potential with a total of 6d6 casting dice. You need to win by flanking and outnumbering, you dont have any large numbers and your only hammer unit as such is the chariot unit which is what is going to draw all the enemy fire incidentally.
Horsemen are not as good as they first appear, they are ok as a flanker but only to take away the flank, they won't do much damage, 4 attacks, WS2, 2 hits, maybe one wound at strength 4 on the charge, but that's if you are lucky.
I hate to be so negative but this army is heading for a massacre particularly against tough troops like the lizardmen. Your basic idea is sound but you need to select the units to bring this about more sensibly.
Here are some suggestions:
Maximum 2 scorpions
Lose all the horsemen and either get a giant, or ushabti or a SSC. I know this is an offensive list but if you soften up your targets with catapult fire you are more likely to win the combat.
Reduce the swarm two max 3 bases
Get rid of the icon bearer he is a total waste of points and space and get another liche or a TP in a second chariot unit, I prefer the LP to make sure you get your movement incantations off.
Get at least two skellie infantry blocks, you will need them to hold the enemy in place so your chariots can come i and do some damage, even in an offensive army.
Hope all this is helpful.
I like the idea of having the a large chariot/horseman army but it doesnt really work. but on the other hand it is a very cool idea, if i wore u i would drop at least 2 scorpions 3 tomb swarms and the small unit of chariots cause there isnt enough troops if ya know what i mean.Originally Posted by War Bringer
If ya drop that stuff u can afford some lighthorsmen and some skeletons. i would have atleast 3 blocks of 20 or 2 units and some tomb guard. thx
