I am a seasoned Fantasy player and am creating a Tomb Kings army to take with me to the Grand Tornament later this year. I am not a huge fan of hugely beardy army lists (cough, Skaven, cough) but still want to take something competitive. To this end my special choices could either consist of:
25 Tomb Guard
2 Tomb Scopions
3 Tomb Scorpions
What does everyone think, I would be hugely greatful for any feedback,
Well it depends on the rest of your army sort of. IMO if you had 2 tomb swarms i would just go with the 25tomb guard and some ushabti if you have room. If you dont have swarms go for the ushabti/scorpion. With those two you can easily wipe out units and warmachines. Scorpions are great for killing any warmachine, flanking units, and or stopping units from marching. Just make sure the scorpion is backed up by something. They will only hold their ground for a turn. Also killing blow is great for assasinating characters or important units. I favor the ushabti/scorpion better.
How big's the list going to be?
I'd recommend taking the Tomb Guard, honestly. 2 scorpions ought to be enough to deal with any war machines you run into, and Tomb Guard are a great unit of infantry (especially by TK standards). Slap your King and the Rakaph banner on them and you've got good times coming up.
Just my thoughts, your mileage may vary.
It will depend somewhat on what the rest of the list looks like, but generally I say go with the 1st choice, adding 1 Ushabti to the unit.
