This is a pretty unusual question, kind of embarrassing, too.
Any tips on putting the Screaming Skull Catapult together? There are just so many pieces that seem to need to be glued all at the same time. I find it pretty overwhelming. I've got the little feet attatched to the front halves of the sides, and the crank-nub-things glued to the back halves. I figure glue the two halves of each side together would be next, but after that I just get confused and quit.
I can never seem to get the two halves of each side to stay together, so if there's any pointers on that, I'd appreciate that, too.
I'm starting to get afraid that I'll get it almost finished, then in classic Citadel fashion, the pieced wont fit.
Thanks for any help.
When I put mine together, I worked it 'from the ground up'. Put the little skeleton creatures together (front, back, feet), then connect the two via the bars that go between them (this is the trickiest part. I suggest using epoxy sculpt to kinda hold the pieces loosely together, then glue em to solidify things). After that, just put the posts up with the bar inbetween em.
Also, you might not like the modelling idea, but it looks like it would be a little easier if you cut the tow rope off of the back bar and modelled the throwing arm parallel to the ground, as if it's fully pulled back, ready for loading.
When i put mine together i dodnt glue the 'throwing arm' or the bit with the 'bone rope' in place, it made it far easier as these bits are left to move and the rest of the SSC goes together quite easily around it.
Cant remember if I worked side to side or from the bottom up, but either should be fine. When the rest of the model is made, the hook on the rope can be glued to the arm, holding both in place.
