Ok i gotta fight dwarves soon so id like to hear what tips their are against these beasts. I basically have lots of skelies, 2x tomb swarm, BG, 6 chariots, 16 horses, scorpion. I was thinking of putting a TP on a chariot and charge through some warriors, but im worried about cannons taking my head off. Also im a noob but i want to know if cannons can stand and shoot? i doubt it but ive never fought someone with cannons. And another question about smiting. If I use it on my BG or scorpion or anything that has more that one atk do they get all there atks or just one? I ve been under the influence that it only gives u one atk, but id like to straighten that out. Thanks
It would be helpful to know what size armies this fight is going to be. Dwarves are a tough match for TK.
As for smiting, scorpions/bonegiants/etc only get 1 extra attack (but it does still get all their special rules: poison/KB for the scorp and UA for the giant if he charged that turn). It is very rarely worth casting on these single model units. A magic missile will do more damage.
With what you have i think you may struggle against Dwaves, especially as they have extra free dispel dice, and your magic is the key to making a TK army work most effectively.
The Tomb Swarms and Scorpion will be very useful for using ICFB and taking out dwarf warmachines.
Putting the prince in the chariot, he makes an attractive target for the enemy, but he also gains a lot of speed so if you can keep him protected before he gets to charge then he should be quite nasty.
You will want as much magic as possible, so in under 2K, use 2 priests as well as the prince. Give the hierophant the Cloak and Jar, and if you have the points give the other priest a steed and the Staff of Ravening.
Your giant will attract the enemy's warmachine fire and will fall quickly as he takes multiple wounds. Also, Tomb King cavalry are quite poor as far as cavalry go, so dont expext these to do much damage.
Best advice i can give is to get a SS catapult, their special rule can really hurt the enemy.
Get 2 swarms, 2 catapult, High Liche, max out scorpions. Let scorpions and swarms take out his machines, catapults do some wounds- rest of your army should simply hide from him. This should get you draw.
You won't outmagic him (which means offense will really suck), Dwarves have too many DD and without magic TK are worthless.
And the ground did tremble, as the king marched to war...
Read the tomb kings vs section it has numerous tactics and army selection as well as what to look out for.
PS theres a link to it in the Stickied thread Tomb Kings Links
