after reading the small piece of fiction in the tomb kings army book about king phar i want a nice looking tomb king in a chariot, wielding a flail,i attempted this before and it looked really strange and static, my question si this:
witch tomb king would be better do u think? the one with shield or the one with great weapon and any tips on making the flail hang naturally? thanks in advance
I think I'd be inclined to convert a plastic infantryman.
Use the flail arm and replace the spiked ball with a skull.
Maybe add the two curly horns so it looks a bit different.
Or buy some thin chain from a jewellers to replace the plastic chain.
Use a skull with fanciest head-dress.
Mini skull off a sword pommel on peak.
Model a ruff out of milliput.
Cape out of tissue painted with PVA.
My idea was to take the great weapon king, chop off his weapon at the hand or just above. Take 3 flail chains from the warrior sprue attach them so they are all curved towards the back. Green stuff the base. Replace the heads with the jawless skulls. Hopefully this will look like he is mid swing. Haven't tried it yet, can't seem to find the king model. If I do I will let you know how it went.
For the greater good, my will be done!

I actually was going to do this myself, but i got distracted and now im at school. I was going to take a bit from my friends flagilants from the empire army and take their long flail. I would replace the ends with a bunch of extra skulls and use the king with a shield. Thats just what i was going to do.
I started with the skeleton champion arm, as its the least weedy looking of the skeleton arms and removed the sword blade. I replaced it with the smallest skull i could find on the skeleton sprue which I used as an anchor for the chains. I was going to use the chains from the skeleton flails but then I found some better looking ones on a chaos banner - they even had skulls already attached. I glued these chains onto the small skull and then put this arm onto the great weapon king instead of his regular weapon.
I'll post a pic when I get a chance.
