I just wanted to share an experience with a unit combination that I've heard about for a while, and finally put to test last weekend.
The unit is three chariots with a standard and the magic banner that gives +1 to hit in the first round of combat (Icon of the Sacred Eye, I think) who are joined by a Tomb Prince in chariot with the Flail of Skulls.
This unit is super effective on the charge - like a fire pokemon against a grass pokemon. The Prince will hit most RiF on 2s and wound on 2s also. Plus remember that charrioteers are WS3 (I commonly mistake them for being WS2 like foot slogging skeletons) so they'll hit most things on 3s. Plus the usual slew of impact hits.
In my game, I was fortunate enough to manage to pull off six charges! Felbats, Black Coach, Skeleton front, Zombie flank, Spirit Host flank, and Grave Guard flank. Total decimation to everything in their path!
I think the big test for this unit would be to see if I could charge them into a unit of dreaded great weapon weilding Dragon Ogres or Kroxigors and wipe the enemy entirely out before they could squash my chariots with S7 attacks. It would be super risky, but I think it'd be a cool charlie foxtrot.
I think a Spear would be a much better option than a XXpt magic flail with a not that great ability. Spear of Antarakh, maybe?
Please don't post individual item costs. Thanks . -Spector

I'd also be wary of charging them into something like Krox or DO's unless it's as a last resort. If you whiff (which has been known to happen with chariots) you're in deep shit, as the entire unit will likely be dead from the high S attacks.
The Spear on the other hand will heal the user any damage you do, which while nice isn't what you are looking for on a chariot in my opinion. A nice build if you want to use the Spear would be something like the Spear, Scorpion Armor, and the Cloak of the Dunes. Keep the King by himself, and charge him into the rear of a unit. He will take minimum wounds due to the Scorpion Armor and will heal those wounds with the Spear. He can keep a unit tied up pretty much forever until something comes over to assist them.
Never tried that setup personaly but it sounds like a good combo. If you can get it to work consistantly ad you did in your 1st game then may aswell keep it.
Just wondering, what type of army do you have running with this?
Also Spector, your other point is valid
Deceiver, my entire list is:
Tomb King (G): DoE, Collar of Shapesh - joins skeleton fighters
Tomb Prince: Flail of Skulls - joins chariots
Liche (H): Cloak of the Dunes, Heiratic Jar
Liche: Dispell scroll x2, Casket of Souls
28 Skeleton 'fighters': FC, LA, Sh, Banner of the Undying Legion
11 Skeleton archers: Bows
3 Chariots: standard, Icon of the Sacred Eye
Screaming Skull Catapult: Skulls of the Foe
I consider this my 'hit list', as everything (save for the archers) is a credible hit threat. I'm highly considering taking both the Casket and Catapult out and replacing it with a Giant and some Carrion or something to fill the points. It'll make me more offensive - plus my Catapult always seems to implode on turn one.
Cool, just as id expected to be honest lol. Not that thats a bad thing, just my first thought /guess was 'defensive list with the Chariots as a fast assault unit'.
If your up for suggestions, id say loose a bow skellie, a few from the large unit and possibly a scroll or two in order to get a 4th Ushabti.
Forget the giant it is nowt but a big target, go for ushibati as for the casket i dont know never used it but carrion are a good but fragile bet for blockers and cannon snipers even small units of archers/missile troops can run away. the scorpions are fun but ive not had much luck with mine hence extra ushibatie.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Sorry to take this off topic, but it looks like we have a new TK player in out ranks. And from your avatar, i like you already! Maiden forever!
Anyway... back to the thread topic. Just thought id say hi lol.
So what would be optimal with having a prince in the chariot? I always like having my king on foot with TG. But im still playing around with a prince in chariot. I was thinking that a chariot of fire itself is devastating. Load the prince with that and vambraces of the sun. Then shield/flail/LA and if ur fighting ogres/peeps with cannons, maybe switch the vambs with the Eye.
You think thatll be good?
