3D6 from the casket would be batshit tough for some armies to deal with. I consider a magically balanced list to have 4DD and usually two scrolls, and a gimmick (ie, My TK 2K list has two priests (4DD), one is a scroll caddy who sits on the casket (2 scrolls, -1 to cast gimmick; my WE 2K list has a lvl1 Spellsinger caddy and a ClusterWraith - 4DD, 2 scroll, +1DD from the Cluster is the gimmick). If the casket was 3D6, you'd almost need 4DD to dispel it reliably, and that could be an armies whole magic defense right there. | |

I got an additional thing that I would like to be changed: The model of the LP - I don't like the models of the LP... In some way they seems to be "weak" and just annoying when compared to other wizards (for example the cool models of HE mages). I would like a priest with a little more authority, for the Hierophant is truly powerful to summon a whole army to every battle. I have been forced to improve the LP models in my army, where one of them wears the Cloak of the Dunes (maybe something to be made by GW)

It would be coo if GW would make a king with flail of skulls.

Have to agree with the point made earlier in this thread about giving the tomb princes or kings the ability to ride in normal chariots rather the the flimsy light chariots.

Just addressing some of the things brought up in this thread. This also includes some thing I want to see in the new army book too. You have to remember that GW armies are based off of the backgrounds for the races/armies. 1. Heavy Armor. NEVER should be seen on foot troops in a Tomb King army. This point has been made before but I'll make it again. Think real life situations too. The Persian Army that invaded Thermopolye drew warriors from similar areas to that of the Nehekhara. What armor did they have? A wicker shield and leather, and the leather if they were lucky. Just doesn't fit. 2. 25-mm based Ushabti. Ok hear me out on this one. I know they are supposed to be our multi-wounded ogre-like constructs, but that wasnt their function in the fluff surroinding TK history. They served as the bodyguards for the Priest Kings, not as battle tanks for their armies. Putting them on 25-mm bases would make them alot more accurate in that way. Seeing these guys as a rank and file troop would be awesome. But of course more would have to be added to the army to make up the lack of an ogre-like unit. They could, however, replace the Tomb Guard so it doesn't seem like overdo on the elite foot troops. Tomb Guard were only existent in one city anyway... 3. Heavy Cavalry. These didn't even really exist in Nehekharan armies. Chariots served as the shock forces for their armies, not heavily mounted troops. Which brings me to my next point... 4. Chariots. People have asked for "elite" chariots. What you have to understand is that the only type of chariots were "elite" chariots. They consisted of the nobles and wealthier families. There were no other kind of charioteers. So if you want a stronger chariot that badly, upgrades should be made to the ones now. I expect to see a plethora of new plastics come out for TK's. Most likely somewhere along the lines of one or both of the rare choices becoming plastic. If the Ushabti models are put on smaller bases the structure should stay the same but if plastic it would be cool to see customiseable Ushabti heads, such as the Ushabti of Quatar having all jackal-like heads. Just my five cents Last edited by Shadowblademafia; May 29th, 2009 at 00:07. |

I've been saving up too start a 2nd "real" army and the TKs are my fav. After looking at the models i'd like too see this: 1: a Plastic Lich boxed set, with the exception of the Queen, the lich models are very Mundane looking. 2: a Cheaper plastic Tomb Guard set, if i want 20 Tomb Guard.. i'm sorry i don't wanna pay 100 bucks for them... as mentioned earlier about them staying the same Power, i PERSONALLY say make them stronger, GW and HA choices, or lower the price... Ouchie, 3: a Plastic Tomb King/Prince OR a couple more Pewter modles, maybe one with a Flail or Spear, etc. 4: Fix Light Calv, why have a Fast Calv that can't Flee? 5: Bone Giant Needs some love, one way or another. 6: Tomb Swarms i think could be a bit Cheaper, 45 points seems a bit steep, 5 wounds or not. maybe 35 and 4 wounds. I know they aren't O&G but snotlings seem much more effecient(although they have better fillers anyhow) 7: After reading alot but not personally playing them i Hear TK are slump in Lower Games, Being Money AND time Tight, i tend too play alota Small games more often than larger ones, Love too see a more even playable army in smaller games(500, 650, 75 ![]() Just a few personal thoughts, even if the TK army book is a ways off(although i hope its next!) I think i might end up buying a Battlion and a Prince soon

forgive me if this has already been put forward, but what about casket guard as normal troops? maybe as royal guard? (more royal than tomb guard) 2 attacks with great weapons and heavy armour ws4? 2d3 pick the highest with summoning, may make 2 attacks with smiting, 16 points a piece, rare choice or 0-1 special, may be taken as a retinue with some benefits for a heiro? like with the whole temple guard and slann thing where you have to kill the temple guard to get to the slann. would that be overpowered for tk? |

Well I really enjoy it when armies fit their fluff, and said before heavy armor doesnt fit this army. It doesnt make sense to have bulky armor when you are in the heat of the desert. With this said I still do think that the elite infantry (currently tomb guard) should have a better save. What do you guys think about having a reinforced skeletal frame type rule. Much like scaly skin but different of course description wise. LA, shield, and a 6+ or 5+ reinforcement would give TK some well armored troups.

Indeed... Piercing the breast of a skeleton will not really do that damage ![]() Any kind of save against piercing and slashing weapons, that doesn't work against crushing attacks such as the one you get from a flail... It would be quite fluff-wise
