Hey guys, having lost yet again to the VC this week (Grave Guard with banner of the barrows, Vampire Lord with the helm givin them WS7 and vanhels danse giving them hatred and ASF on the charge is foul!!! 2+ to hit rerollable with 2+ to wound, magical hits with killing blow 'sigh'). My win/loss ratio is taking a pounding against our arch nemesis and as a result i have been playing around with my list.
Army List Changes:
- Dual SSC's replaced with SSC/CoS combination
- [The -1 to enemy casting and extra incantation is great against 1die casting]
- HW/SH/LA Skellies unit replaced by 20 bowmen!
- [This is to compensate for the loss of shooting caused by the removal of one SSC!]
But hey, on to the point of the post, if you are experiencing problems with using the caskets incantation due to an enemies magic resistance, carrion can be used to block the specific opposing unit's LoS very effectively. This will increase the potency of your magic phase. They are excellent in this role because they can be positioned in such a way that they maintain casket LoS to other enemy units!
PS - Will post my new army list when i have a spare five minutes!
How do you expect to defeat me when I am forever and you are just a man...
Sounds like a cool idea to me but is there actually anything besides the black coach which actually has MR in a VC army? I'm cant think of anything but then I dont have the book.
Also if the Casket is on a hill, nothing will block LoS to it.
That is actually a rather good idea. My only concern is wouldn't that leave the carrion stuck out in the open in front of the opponent's army? I can think of many places I would rather they be, getting stuck into war machines and marchblocking to name a couple.
change your army list get Chariots in there and VC are piece of crap though their VC on zombie dragon is nasty

S7 vampires in the new rules are much less common than they used to be though, sinec to get it they need to spend 25 points of their bloodline power allocation. In the old rules every vamp had a great weapon, you won't see them too often now though unless they know they are facing a chariot heavy TK army. But yes it would pretty much crunch the entire unit with ease. Would definitely want to avoid head to head combat with them.
And VC are not a piece of crap, they are actually a very powerful army now and much more superior to TK now.
