I was thinking about collecting one, is it a good choice or not?
I would say no... i think the idea of a "mainly" chariot/cavalry army can be a good idea.. but you have to build it as such.
There are too many tools in the Tomb Kings army list that you'd be foolish not to pick them up... for instance:
Screaming Skull Catapult
Ushabti and/or Tomb Guard...
There are far better things in our list than our cavalry.
However.. if you take Settra, and get 3-4 units of 3 or so chariots then support all of that with Ushabti, Scorpion, and maybe a SSC or two.. you might have a pretty fun list.. although I don't think it would fair well against most army lists.
I will say though - the idea seems very fun to put together.
Thanks for the advice, I think I won't collect an all cavalry army
As Wrekka said, youll miss out on some units. But why he added Scorps, Ushabti and Carrion to that list i have no idea...
An all mounted TK force can be a great army. If it didnt work then noone would use it, but people do. You just have to think offensively.
Foir a 2K list, run a King and prince, both in Chariots. Flying Hiero and mounted priest. Chariots as core, couple of units of light cav. 2 Scorps, carrion and some ushabti if you wish, then a Bone Giant as a a Rare option.
Personally i think an offensive TK list can work. Pure cav, Pure Chariot can both work, but to make the most of it youll need backup from other offensive and tactical units such as Scorps etc.
I've been playing what could be called a cav and chariot army for a long time with some great sucess... they are totally offensive (which is the way I like to play) and with the speed you can generally dicate the battle to your enemies... you at times can even get off a first turn charge!!
The thing is that they need a bit of back up which inculdes things like a scorpian or 2 some carrion and a bone giant.
In 2000 pt list I have
Chariot King and Prince
Flying Heiro and mounted priest
3 units of chariots (2 units of 3 and 1 unit of 4)
2 units of light cav (5 each)
2 tomb scorpians
Ushabti are actually too slow for this list but the scorpians and the bone giants are quite nice in this list.
It is generally quite successful although like when you specialise there are some armies that is struggles against... in particular undead armies...
I personally say go for it they are fun to use and really quick and manuverable around the table...
Sure I miss out on some of the other units aka Ushabti, SSCs and tomb guard. But I also have them and if I want a change I pull them into a list.

There is nothing more annoying when your Wyches with Plasma Grenades get "Always strikes First" for their combat drugs!
