Settra the Imperishable
High Queen Khalida Neferher
Which named character do you use?
Why use science and education when ignorance and superstition will work just as well.
Personally id use neither. If i ever had to choose one, or advise on one, id recommend Khalida.
Personally i think both of them are poor choices especially compared to some of the special characters that other armies are able to deploy.
Should i be forced to use on i would probably choose Setra as I don't like kahlida's model very much and i also prefer Setras rules and fluff
I'm going with neither. A Settra army would be interesting to try, but I think it would be a bit weak in the magic department which is what TK need. Khalida is probably a safer choice, and the poison arrows are nice.
A Settra army is extremely expensive to deploy.
You've gotta be at least 3000 points because Settra takes up two lord slots, and then half the army (at least 1500 points) has to be Chariots, Tomb Guard or Heavy Horsemen. In any configuration, that is going to be a crap ton on money to play a unique army configuration that probably won't see the light of day every game. I'll pass on that.
Neither. But if I had to use one it would be Settra, mainly for the pure badass factor. That and the fact that he is a very hard character to actually get rid of if he does reach CC (2x 4+ ward saves basically at worst, 2+, 4+ saves at best). Also the Chariot legion lists can screw with people's head, definately striking a bit of fear into some.
I am running a Khalida list at the moment with a nice unit of 30 poison bowmen .
I know Khalida isnt the best combat character in the game (don't take her 1 on 1 vs Grimgore) but she is still okay and will help in combat.
With Setras army I dont think the restriction on chariots and tomb guard is that bad. Okay you have to take at least 1500 points in them, I would run at least that in chariot anyway. They are not too expensive being a regiment box for 120points (at the minimum) and a large increase when you start running with standards and full command.
Anyway my 2 cents
i normally dont use a named character but i can easily say that IMO that Khalida is better than Setra, mainly because i think that Setra stops you from having a main unit that the Tomb Kings needs namely the priests.
i have nothing against him personally but personally i use Khalida myself in the very few games i manage to play these days.
Khalida! The idea of so many poison arrows raining down on the enemy is just plain awesome.
