Welcome to Librarium Online!
After discussing Settra in another thread, I decided to use army builder to see what a Settra army might actually look like.
a) Settra can only be used in 3000 point games or higher because he takes two lord choices.
b) Half the points in the army must be spent on Tomb Guard, Chariots, or Heavy Horsemen.
I decided to keep the list as simple as I could, so I went with a 3000 point list, so 1500 points must be spent on the three 'Settra's Guard' units.
Since I'm a believer of Tomb King Heavy Cavarly being crap, I decided just to use Chariots and Tomb Guard.
Again, keeping things simple, I went for a 1:1 ratio of a basic flight of Chariots (3 chariots, naked) to a 'basic' unit of Tomb Guard (20 Tomb Guard, full command).
After four of these packages, I hit 1560 points, fullfilling the second ground rule requirement.
Adding in Settra, the army size comes to 2185. Leaving 815 points to work with other characters, and anything else that feels essential to a Tomb Kings army (like catapults).
Personally, I'd probably just max out on Princes in chariots to lead the chariot units, and call it a day. But what I'd rather like to examine is the financial cost of this example of the required parts to an army of Settra.
Settra himself is $40.
Each flight of Chariots is $35. Four units, $35 x 4 = $140
Each unit of Tomb Guard is a TG command box ($22) and three TG infantry boxes ($20x3=$60 ); so each unit is ($22 + 3($20 ) = $88 ). Four units, $352.
So everything together is $352 + $140 + $40 = $532. Holy crap!
How many players out there are going to invest this much money into a niche type army?
You know what, all this talk on the Tomb King forum about what we want in our eventual 7th edition rewrite, how about a usable special character?

Using regular skeletons converted into Tomb Guard makes that army much cheaper.
Personally i wouldnt bother with the TG at all. Why have a slow moving static res unit in one of the most offensive armies in fantasy?
Never really scribbled up a ettra list before, but if i had to look at a 3K army for him, it would be something like this:
Settra + 3 Chariots w/ Banner + Icon of the Sacred Eye
Chariot Prince w/ ''Dscroll'' + 3 Chariots
5 x 4 Chariots
12 Heavy Cav + FC + BotUL
2 x 6 Heavy Cav
2 x 3 Carrion

Yea, Heavy Horsemen are great in this type of list. Everyone dubs them as crap and writes them off, but many don't realize that they do have their own niche so to speak. Heavy Horsemen are a great tarpit unit that has some punch on the charge and is amazing for outnumbering someone. That and I even think the models are pretty cool looking.
They would be able to keep up with your chariots much much better than the Tomb Guard would be able to.
