I am torn between the Eye or Mirage for my chariots.
I have 3 chariots (soon to be 6 max due to an impending batallion arrival).
My quandary is...
Do I take the missile attacks that will be made against me and hope I have enough left to use the +1 to hit of the Eye, or reduce the number of hits using Mirage and then hope I get good dice rolls to hit.
In a fluff way I see these chariots hurtling across the desert avoiding arrows and stones, bringing up plumes of dust before crashing into the enemy rather than having one or two being destroyed before giving the enemy a good hiding.
Mirage unless persuaded otherwise I think.
Dont use a unit of size more than 4. Even then, unless you have a Character joining the unit, dont bother with Magic Standards. Its the impact hits that do the damage, and losses to cannons etc are acceptable. If you run 3, run them naked. 4, possibly add a standard. 3+ Character, add banner + magic banner + possibly musician.
I like to run three chariots with the Icon of the Sacred Eye, and join a Prince with the Flail of Skulls into the unit.
So on the charge, you'll get a lot of impact hits, then the Prince will usually hit basic troops on 2s (and most characters on 3s), and then typically wound on 2s also (again, so characters or big monsters 3s or worse).
Then of course all the other pud skeletons and horses get to hit at +1 also. This unit is great vs ranked infantry flanks, but really shines vs unit of Ogre/Trolls/equivalent. Anything with more than one wound is going to hurt when this unit hits and the Prince lays the beatdown.
