Hey, I'm trying to get as many tombstones from the old skeletal sprue together as possible, for a large graveyard scenery piece
I currently have approx 15 including the zombie ones, but need lots more.
any advice? if you live in london and would be able to go to GW oxford plaza to trade for marine bits / IG bits / WFB orc bits that'd be great, or for more details PM me (but i'd rather avoid cash due to potential for problems)
Any advice on how to make a "cross" gravestone impressive and easily (I can fabricate one myself with stirrers / artists card etc, but is there others out there?) - and wrought iron gates / rails in the right scale?
(and some old style skeletal legs would be a bonus too.)
Im afraid i cant help you out, though i would if i could, Am just intrigued though, whats the plan?
I suppose i have two army box worth of skeleton sprues and assume shipping isn't super expensive i don't mind sending you what i have.
I have been working on a alternate undead army for Imperial Guard for some time now, and was mixing cadian torso's (simply 10 torsos and 10 lasguns cost about £ 3-4 if got off the right bits store on the internet, i had a largish IG army already) with zombies and skeleton bits.
The original reason for this was to put together a zombie hoard, as per the additional cool scenario (they randomly stroll about the battlefield being a rather fun nuisance - with a poor, poor statline but feel no pain, and "get back up" on a 4+ they're just hard to kill.) but i can't find that on the GW website anymore.
I did a bunch, and enjoyed them so much, and was so, so satisfied with the result I decided to enlarge them to have a undead command squad, so i could put a undead IG army for a laugh in 500 point games.
Then I clicked that as i'd made all my grey paint scheme tanks with: Removeable commanders on the basalisks (based on a small square base) and the hatches to be swappable on others (for pintle options) all i needed to do was have a undead commander hatch, and I have undead armour. One ebaye'd chaos renegade commander (there's chaos and krieg in one of the larger tanks so it was obviously spare) later, and a couple of zombies/skeletons in hatches, and we're good to go.
Then I won a ebay bid on what appeared to be renegade torso's and arms. In your hand's they're even nicer than i thought, so i got a second pack, and voila! two five man squads of stormtroopers with twin melta gun and twin plasma guns.
I am expanding my infantry so that when the IG codex is re-done i should be able to field a army of undead infantry, and then i'll look at any tank requirements. (new dex)
The old torso's are vital as the new ones (I even bought a new vampire box to test) have a spine that doesn't go above the pelvis, and the spine isn't thick enough to support the torso satisfacorarily. Besides, I like the arms - shave the ball joint for pose and it goes on well, and the heads just need a bit of subtle sprue for afficing, and with a bit of filing can fit a cadian helmet. They're also mostly devoid of armour plates etc.
Chaos marine plasma guns (looks right as it's smaller than marine ones), catchan flamers (with f/w renegade canister) make the bulk of special weapons, and I'm trying to get the old, old 1986 chaos heavy weapons if i can't convert enough (I'm doing ok so far, but want them spectacular)
The tombstones i want as I got two boxes of gothic arched ruins for the remains of a church. Then i got a imperial sector box, then i was given another as a present.
It's now a cross shaped church (16 sections long, 12 wide) which is 2.5 levels high. It's looking sweeeeeeetttt. I wanted to have a few "fields" of tombstones to go with it, the round ones can be sculpted / modified as i want (Names of opponents and a coulple of quotes would be great if i can, but that'd be a last touch.)

I have a fair few of the old skellie sprues, andd live in London, though I usually don't venture further east than the Kensington store....might be able to ditch a fair few of them, would be looking at Marine, Vampire or High Elf bits though...

Edit: I still want more everyone... I want a field of tombstones (To go with the approx 1 metre by 75cm church) - if i can do it right It'll also be a display board for my undead guardsmen (one in front of every tombstone)
One of my mates asked me if I did dark angels as he reckons I secretly have a gothic heart. I think he may be right, but can't really tell as it's too black to see the little arches.
p.s. I will be putting photo's up when I get my digital camera back, and progress further (camera with female friend currently). and a link to it on this thread. Promise.
