Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was thinking of going for TK. Its either that or all night goblins with converted spider riders and a home made doom diver with spider chariots. However I'm a little lost for TK conversions. chariots and a unit of tomg guard would be specials. I might be able to convert a casket of souls but otherwise I'm lost for ideas for scorpion Maybe a giant scarab ? Though I dont know yet how I'd make it. Ushabtai I'm not too worrida about. Any ideas ?
Also any ideas on a theme aside from all chariots or all infantry. I was thinking maybe scarabs insead of asps. I want to use the Khalidia model as my prince or maybe lord level heriophant in 2k.
What are you after exactly? If you just want a TK army with no specific theme other than everything ust be converted, then it shouldn't be too hard to do. I think a theme may be a good idea though, something to base the conversions around.
I did a conversion for the Chariot of Fire magic item.
I used settra's chariot and shotened the haft to fit only two horses.
I replaced the scythed wheels and front blade with three blades from the Chaos tzentch sorcerer on disc (spelt wrongly i realise)
then I used a few ork topknots for to attach to the wheels.
Painted these bits up as flames and I was pretty pleased with the result.
Yet to see how the painted version does on the tabletop
maybe i've got an idea for an coversion for the scorpion.
the SSC has those old cold one model heads on the bottem of the model.
i don't know if you can get those, but if it's posseable, you can chop of the upper body part and you will have an upper body of a dead dinosaur look a like creature. the big hand on the catapult arm, which throws the projectiles, is able to use as the hand of your dinosaur look a like creature's hand. if you get two of them, you can make a kind of dino which comes out of the sand to eat his meal, and because he comes out of the sand you don't need any legs.
don't know if it's gonna work, but maybe it's something to make your conversion.
If you can get your hands on the undead collectors guide fromGW an army has a made a bone giant using the parts mentioned above.
that last post jogged my memory so thank you
Ok thanks. I will think on it more.. but I think the goblins may be more doable.. I can think of more stuff for them.
For tomb kings, you could base them upon a differnt history,
IE: instead of basing them on egypt, you could do say.. rome, or china
thought there are plenty more,
for rome it would be orginized legions, and the units fit together in toroise
formations, among other things
for china, you could have say, clay warriors as your skeles, firework launchers
as the SSC, and dragon~y things as scorpions
just some thoughts
Aye, I guess any sort of animated thing could be used. I will have to contemplate it more
I have several conversions in my army. 2 of my 3 Kings have conversions for weapons, one with my own Spear of Antarhak, the other with a Flail of Skulls. I am currently working on a scratch built Bone Giant, with plans for a giant scarab tomb scorpion, and 2 swarm creations. As I want to play a Sehenesmet army, I will pry be building even more giants.
Personally, TK almost requires conversions do to a lack of variety in the range. But I also had a small NG army, and can see where that can also have room for conversions.
For the greater good, my will be done!
Tau- 4k~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Tomb Kings- 2.5k
Thousand Sons- 1850 ~~~~~Night Goblins- 900
I was thikning of either scarabs or asps. Use the khaldia model and convert things to be snake like, have a mummified snake swam as scarab swarms. Or esle a giant scarab as a tomb scorpoion.
