Ok i have to make a 1500 point list for next thursday and i wanna get ahead of the game. I am allowed a lord choice (house rule) and i want my army to be magic heavy so 2/3 characters will be priests.
I am really struggeling with what to set-up my king/prince with, in 1.5k i'm going to go with a liche high priest as my lord, so for a prince what set-up works well?
I have no idea what unit to put him with, what equipment to give him...i know nothing
Can anyone give me some advice, thanks!
You can go for strait up great weapon, light armour and shield. Complement with a collar of shapesh, makes a great combat tool for your infantry blocks.
If you want some punch, chariot and a flail of skulls. Always challenge on the charge if the unit has a champion. The additional wounds from the flail will count towards combat resolution as overkill (max +5). A retinue or 3 chariots with a warbanner make a good hammer unit at decent cost.
I am very wierd with my characters, i am scared that they die...so i like to gear them up...or leave them at home
I was just wondering, does the incantation that restores wounds also resurect characters?
So if my tomb king/prince died could i get him back with the healnig incantation?
No, you can only heal them if they're still standing. Honestly, a Prince is a tough cookie with an extra wound for a hero choice and T5, he'll live for a while. The Collar is probably the only thing I'd consider taking on a Prince. The offensive stuff, or even just a cheap prince is too tempting.
Hmm, Lord in 1500, definitely very useful.
Going with a LHP + TP + LP gives you 9 incantation dice. Going with a TK + LP + LP gives you 6. So the LHP is definitely the stronger option magically... but remember a King will allow access to core chariots.
Still, sticking with the LHP for now, id advise giving him the Cloak and the Mighty Plaques. The LP, maybe look at a Steed + SoRav? Or if you're sure on opponants, maybe HJar + Scroll.
So, the Prince. GW + Collar is a nice standard setup. If you think you'll need a scroll and also want the SoRav above then maybe give him the Broach too.
Just to comment of the rest of the Army:
I think an SSC is a must. Your special choices will be where the difficult secisions are. Id suggest 4 Ushabti for soe real hard hitting power. 3 Chariots for some speed, and then your choice of 3 Carrion OR a Scorpion. With a LHP, its likely the Carrion will be more useful, as you can look for 1st turn charges. Your ICFB (w/o a scorp) can come from 2 Core Tomb Swarms. Then just stock up on Skellie Archers, large units of 20 w/ music
pardon my ignorance but what is a SoRav? i am bad with tomb kings termonology.
Also what benefits does a broach have over a dispel scroll?
ok thanks for that man, i'll post my list in the army list section when i'm done.
Pleasure doing business with you
SoRav is the staff of Ravening, a bound item in the arcane section. The only advantage that the Broach has is that a character that is not a wizard can take it. That leaves you free to go hog-wild on arcane items for your priests.
Edit: Wow, two posts in the time it took me to type one...must be getting sluggish.
ok guys i went with phoenix's suggestions about gear and i was wondering how i could play these models..like which units would they go with/follow.
The prince is in a chariot
