Hello all! New to the forums!
Starting my TK collection after Christmas hits and I get my money!
Anyway, me and my friend were looking at Settra The Imperishable and were wondering if hes as useful as he looks. Any info on him from a vet TK player would be appreciated as well.
Settra is a beast, and has arguably the best armour in the game. The armies you build around him however don't have a lot of flexibility because you have to take certain units. He does suck up a ton of dispell dice, and there is no way you're opponent will be able to dispell all his spells. You can only take him in 3000+ point games however because he takes up 2 lord choices.
Does settra get armour save bonus from his chariot? Or is that included in his profile? If he does get the bonus, his save is really nice
But i still don't think he's worth the points. Does he really do that much in combat? I'd like him to have another attack or two, to make his weapon a bit more effective. I feel like khalida would be more effective.

Personally im not a fan. He limits your army composition so much, you miss out on a lot, like being able to play games below 3K, and having a magic defence
One thing is that whenever TK army book gets its update next year, you can bet that Settra is going to be tweaked a bit so you can take him in 2000 point games.
Settra isn't that bad a choice in 3000pt games, although as others have mentioned he does reduce your dispell die he does make up for it with all his "will be done" on the units that you must take... combine that with the fact that you can only effectively take tomb princes as your hero choice you find that your units become somewhat more stronger in combat as well.
Combine this with his great armour save ward save combo and he is quite difficult to take down. Further to this remember that he has ASF rule and with 5 attacks and a little luck you have most enemies fighting your unit with WS1! This is great which means that even skeletons will be hitting things on 3s! And if he's with chariots your enemy is hitting you on 5s to boot!
All the pros being said the one thing that you have to remember when using Settra is that he designed to be run in an offensive tomb kings list, which means that you need to aviod taking your skeleton archers and the like. So if you want to play a more defensive list then you need to avoid him. If your like offense then he is the one to take... luckily for me I love offensive lists especially against high elves.
I have used him at times and found that he is worth the points, that being said I don't like using special characters as it just dosen't feel right to.
There is nothing more annoying when your Wyches with Plasma Grenades get "Always strikes First" for their combat drugs!
Personally, I don't really care for Settra. My main beef is that he bashes your ability to take casters, something that hurts TK. TK live off of the charges we get from magic, extra lobs from the catapult, and (my favorite) the ability to go Ark of the Covenant and rend enemy souls asunder. Settra turns TK into a super in your face assaulting dead army, and I just feel that Counts do that better. TK are about patience and irritating your opponent into making a mistake, and then making them pay for it. If you really want a special character, I suggest Khalida. Mmmm, poison

I like him well enough...but then I'm a fan of massed chariots. My only real beef with not being able to take LPs is the lack of magic defense...settra has more than enough magic offense to crush your enemies, see them driven before you, blah blah. It is nice to have four or more units of chariots, all led by characters...but personally, I use the settra model for my tomb king in chariot with healing spear...but not the settra character...mainly because I love my ark of the covenant, and partly because of the 3k points minimum to field him.

Settra is a pimp, he's the snoop dog of the warhammer world, he drives arround on his pimped out chariot, only a certain few can be part of his posse, hes decked out in gold chains and is packing a mean piece, he's my hero and cant wait for him to be able to ride arround with smaller size armies.
