Hello to all.
For some time I have eyed the TK as my next fantasy army (actually I eyed it already as I selected my previous army) but the ugliness of core skeleton figures have hold me back. To me these old models look bulky and rigid. And especially irritating is the right-hand bow use of skeletons. I have never even heard that any army tried to use the bow that way - and as I have had few shots from the real bow myself this really irritates me.
On the other hand the fluff and tactical options of the TK are nice, no-one is playing it in my neighborhood and the other models in the range are very nice.
So here at last are my questions - are there any good alternatives to TK skeletons or any good and easy conversion methods available? The minimum I need to decide to buy the Battalion is to learn a way to convert the bows into correct hands...
What is wrong with the right handed use of the bows? The models were set up so that they could be equiped with a shield without having to to create an all new set of models. You could always just build the models and use the Quiver bits to indicate archers.
As for real life archery, I've always used a bow from my right hand, then again I am also dominantly left handed.

Switching the Bows from R->L hand shouldn't be too difficult. Tedious maybe.. lol.
As for alternate skellies.. VC ones just don't quite look right.
Maybe all the archers were left handed? We all know left handed people are better. Obviously that's why skeleton archers always hit on 5's. The steady hands of the left handed archers > others.
As for conversion...VC skeletons (i haven't seen them up close to know what they look like...or if they are already the same).....maybe some 40k Necron Warriors? Lol

I at one point planned on converting bowmen to have necron heads, so as to look like they were wearing death masks.
It's their doofy faces that ruin the models for me. And I do love necrons. So, 1+1=2.
If you make a TK/Necron hybrid of any type I demand pictures
