Welcome to Librarium Online!
OK, well i am starting this army as my second after OnG's. After flicking through the army book I noticed that it is possible to have a nearly all mounted force. Are these worthwhile too run as or do players generaly not run all mounted forces?
I was thinking of having Light Cav with bows (since there is no restriction on our shooting), Chariots and maybe heavey cav.
So do any of you's run similar lists?
In my (limited) experience with TK I have always found Skeleton Light Horsemen to be a weak unit because (being Undead) their only charge reaction is to Hold and they can't March, which in my opinion makes them the worst flank harrassers in the entire game, and i can't possibly fathom what other role they would fullfill
Skeleton Heavy Horsemen I find to be a bit of a redundant unit, especially when a Tomb King is chosen because this makes chariots core which can do everything Heavy Horsemen can but better
Chariots on the other hand are awesome, and they are even awesome-er as a core choice!
depends what your using your heavy cav units for. they seem to work quite well as a unit of 10, 2 ranks with a warbanner, gives you +3 static combat res and unit strength of 20 also means outnumber us quite possible. chariots are good but really need to break in round 1, otherwise do trend to suffer. having a unit of heavy horse to come and back the up is always helpful. also depends how strict your deing on all mounted, with some carrion, tomb scorpions and maybe ushabti they are ok as an all mounted force (these after all do move almost as quick as chariots!)
I am totally in love with chariots dont worry about that lol.Chariots on the other hand are awesome, and they are even awesome-er as a core choice!Well i want pretty much all of the core mounted, hero's lords mounted or chariots, for the rare and special i was looking into the ushabti because the models are one of my favs and im intrigued by the big skeleton guy.also depends how strict your deing on all mounted,
Ill draw up a rough list later, i just wanted some feedback first is all.
Thanks so far.
All mounted armies are perfectly viable, though its best to focus around Chariots with Light Cav in support. Maybe one large-ish unit of heavy cav too, for some numbers (unit size).
Other fast moving support units you will also find handy are Carrion and Scorpion, possibly Ushabti and Swarms too.
Give list writing a go and post it in the army list section
sounds like someone is going to enjoy gettin thieir hands on a Settra!
i personally have no objections to the mounted units in TK. but i'm a undead with waagh mentality... yeah i know, a mentality.
the main reason i like the mounted units in TK even in low point games, is they make up for some of the lack of ability of our army to march, and i use them to be a wall of regenerating wounds for the rest of my army working its way across.
