If you go to GW's site you will see that there are new empire models. While these models are nicer they are also more expensive. However the fact that they are made from plastic SHOULD reduce the cost. This goes to show that GW can raise the prices and still make a profit. Now, I'm all in favor for nicer models, but I don't want to have to pay so much more when GW's minis already cost so much! Will Tomb Kings have more expensive models when they are revised?! I sure hope not...
The second wave empire releases really puzzle me. I understood stuff like the VC releases, they reduced the number per box, slightly reduced the box price, but vastly improved the models. This made for skeletons that were superb, and cost slightly more (per skeleton) than what they were.
Stuff like 10 plastic greatswords going for 42 USD just makes my brain hurt, especially since they don't even look terribly different from the metal minis. Then you look at the new archer box set, which is also plastic and has 10 figures, which is going for 25 USD (and is a huge improvement model-wise).
Its as though GW is also trying to make us pay extra because its a "special" troop, and not a core, which is rediculous. It also doesnt make sense because the plastic chaos knight box is also only 22 USD.
I hope that this was just a temporary case of insanity and not a new trend on GW's part. I hope our range goes the way of VC, where the plastic models become fantastic, but only slightly more expensive. Just in case though, I plan on buying up all the TK stuff I could possible need before the new army book comes out.

Well GW did say a price increase is comming didn't they? It's possible the plastic greatswords are more around what everythings going to increase to?
When TKs get a redo I expect:
New skellies, which should look awesome! With our own weapons and everything 10 in a box, for which the standard price is what, £12+ now? Booo.
Plastic Tomb Guard. In boxes of 5-10 probably, but more expensive per model than skellies as youll get an extra sprue of bits for decor.
Plastic Ushabti - Expect a box of 3/4, similar price to Ogre boxes.
Plastic Scorp... One model, loads of extra bits, £12 +
the price hike GW was talking about is making the newer plastic boxes with 10 models (I.E. the Empire Archers) 25 USD instead of 22 USD. I have no idea where they came up with the idea to make ten plastic greatswords 42 USD.
I think your getting your hopes up a bit too high there phoenix, I expect new skellies and a plastic tomb guard box much like the grave guard, maybe something for any new units they come out with, anything else I expect them to promise in a second release wave that they will end up postponing for 2 years.

I wouldn't hold your breath for plastic Ushabti (or even new models for Ushabti). The new Kroxigors were made metal, and I don't think they look any better than the old models (even though I never really liked the look of Kroxigors). Ushabti are one of the most beautiful line of models GW has ever done, it's one of the reasons I picked TK when I started woehammah. Why would they want to change things?
I'd like to see a bone giant that doesn't resemble the chequita banana lady.
