I was at the hobby shop and was watching a Bret VC game(Brets won if anyone is wondering) but i mentioned i was thinking about shelving my Greenskins for a lil while and taking up a TK army.
I forgot most of the conversation because when i mentioned i wanted a army with little if any Calv/chariots, they both looked at me and said "why?!?" i didn't really have a answer, i guess i wanted a large number army of skeletons with a couple scops and some Ushabi.
Anyhow thats basically my question in the title. Do the great Tusken Raiders of Fantasy NEED the Chariots/Calv too win games?
You don't need to have cav... But if you do NOT take some chariots to a TK army you will be much heavier restricted to your movement.
As TK cannot march, you will be capable of moving 4" (8" with the help from magic - which unfortunately is the normal march moves for other races).
Regular Chariots cannot march, and so, the rule for not being able to march is not a weakness when talking chariots (for these can even make the double moves with magic!)
Ofc, it is your own choice in how you want to play the army (different players got different playstyles ). If you manage to get some Ushabtis to get the "shock"-charge in the flank, there should be no problem... BUT, by restrict your own choices is only a bad idea when tactics is different to different enemies. I would, for example, never skip my chariots when playing against HE, but when playing against Dwarfs they may not be the better choice.
One thing is clear -----> You need a shock troop! It is up to you if you take Ushabtis, Bone Giants, Chariots, Scorps, or Heavy Horsemen. You won't be able to use "all-on-one" if you have no one of these.

WiP TK Army!
The problem with a TK foot slogging list is... we cant march. Seriously, try and take the fight to the enemy, and you're slower than dwarves!
Thats not to say that a list with no chariots cant be good. Back all your infantry up with SSC(s), maybe a Casket, and tactical units such as Scorps and Carrion, and you can make a pretty decent defensive army.
