Let's face it, Tomb Kings, while a fun army to play, aren't so fun when your opponent fields a certain unit that you know you'll have a hard time with. I try to urge my friends to make lists that are more fun to play against, and in turn I try to make sure that my opponents have a good time playing against me, but sometimes they decide that they want to give me something to have nightmares about, so they'll put out one of my least favorite units... The Stegadon! This thing is nearly invincible! It has multiple wounds, high toughness and with Engine of The Gods it becomes a central power source for my opponent's skink warriors. No matter how many skulls I chuck at it in never goes down. The same goes for scorpion stingers, poisoned arrows and the even the souls of my enemies coming out of an ancient Ark. This thing doesn't go down! And what the EOTG powered skinks don't destroy, the horns of this deadly beast do.
So, what enemy units do you cringe at when you see them on the table?
Any flying unit with a Str 7 rider. Their manoeuvrability means they can go heirophant hunting but str 7 also makes them great to take out my chariots which I consider a major offensive weapon.
Last game I played was against a VC
he put out a grave guard unit with Regen Hatred and 2 vamps in there one with red fury it was seriously nasty and I was very glad that my lizard man ally took it on with his temple guard. even then we were lucky because of how he deployed he had to charge us with another unit of skellies as well which limited the damage this unit could do. It was nasty.
If you like the post click the *STAR* <===
star dragons. and multiple units of 7 chaos knights. also if they have characters in them thats twice as nasty
Does Thorek count? I mean Im slow as it is, all I need are ancient power explosion death of slowness on 3+'s that are rerollable to make my day.
Nothing. I own like the dog owns a cat, with his jaws.
Well lets see for each army i have played I'll list the stuff that makes me cringe
Lizardmen: Lots of skinks, Carnasaur.
Wood Elves: Dryads, Wild riders
Empire: Inner Circle Knights
High Elves: Anything
Dwarves: Any Lord, so tough to kill...
I have yet to lose to dwarves and struggle against Elves and Ogres.
My greatest fear on field is Phoenix Guards accompanied by Caradryan
Second candidate: A Unit with 9 Dragon Princes w/ War Banner including a Noble BSB with War Banner! It's an unbeatable Unit due to their Static Res PLUS killing powers
If I see any of these, I tremble and always do my best to stay away from those nasty pieces of ASF
Nice thread btw
As a Dwarf player I understand why you might not like our lords & heroes as they're pretty powerful, but TK also has a lot of great lords & heroes with high stats. However, Dwarf Lords & Heroes have way more armor.
