With all the rumors of a New TK list coming out next year, do you think it's worth investing in more TK models or still with my Khalida shooty army. I currently have NO chariots, Tomb Guard, cavalry, BG's, nor Tomb Guard. I do own 2 SSC's a casket 2 Scorps, about 4 boxes of skele's for archers and about 5 Ushabti. This is not including my priests / Khalida.
I would certainly say yes.
Even if GW completey make a mess of a new TK book there will certainly be plenty of new people wanting to give them a try. So worse case scenario you could always sell of anything that gets nerfed for most of what you pay for it.
Looking at the stuff you don't have, it seems you might be lacking for hammer units. The TG can be pretty expensive but you could always use skellies with HW/S/LA as a cheap proxy for these, but I would definately encourage you to pick up a few chariots.
Chariots are pretty much the workhorse of the TK army and probably one that you should at least consider adding to every list you draw up. Even a Khalida list will be greatly improved with the addition of these cheap and effective units.
Because Sun Tzu would play Tomb Kings...
I have to agree with Vallah here It's absolutely worth it!
We don't even know when the new Army Book will be released, so why throw away one or two years of your gaming because of it?
Get the Units you currently don't have They work fantastic!

WiP TK Army!
Yeah...chariots are awesome. I feel the need to add another unit of them...but they're SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO painful to paint, and I don't field unpainted models. So I have to work up the courage to make myself miserable at the painting table for 2-3 weeks to get four more done up. Ugh.
Oh, yeah. And Tomb Guard. The only icky thing about them is that they work best in larger blocks....which means lots of money and lots of painting. And there are only (not counting the command) four different models, two each in two different poses. That can get monotonous. I'd love to see plastic tomb guard in the next edition, just for poseability, to make the painting process less boring.

IG since 1999 __ DA since 2002 __ Tau since 2005 __ SoB since 2007
Brets 1997-1999 __ TK since 2009 __ Empire since 2010
I'd at least say make about 30 - 40 melee skellies. If anything should you choose to abandon the call of the Khemri, you could use them for say... The Cursed Company? or even VC skellies. I have a box of empire i use as models for mostly regiments of renown until I really decide to buckle down and work on that army. And most of the time in friendly games it is not an issue to proxy them as TG, 40 melee skellies = 2 units of 20 tg proxied, one with undying banner one with rakaph. anvil and hammer respectively.
Chariots! love them suckas! Specially if a king is nearby or in the unit and provoke a magic phase charge to assist in the flank of a battle.
BG is kinda an opinion piece fits in well with a much more Hammer and Anvil design but can be fun just to field. causes terror, although would soak up a rare choice in place of your casket or one of your catapults.
